One of the students, Lyanne Sy, raised a question on her personal social media page asking, “Di naman sa pinago-overthink kita ha, pero asan na yung BUBBLE WRAP from your latest budol?” She then reveals that regular plastic bubble wrap takes around 20-500 years to degrade compared to their packaging materials that can decompose in as fast as 180 days “under proper home composting conditions.” Luntian is certified by TUV Austria, ABA, and BPI as Home Compostable. Plus, all parts of the mailer even the bubble sheet inside is 100% compostable and can be composted in the comfort of the consumer’s own backyard.

Knowing this, we could mirror the research and recontextualize it to Mindanao’s setting. Additionally, applying the results from this research could help promote sustainable packaging to Mindanaoan consumers.
