• School shoes should be black.

• PE kit should only be worn on your child’s PE days.

• Trainers should be suitable for sport and should be plain black or white. We ask that children do not wear trainers with flashing lights or toys attached.

• Coats and jackets should be worn outside only and not in class.

This week in Reception, we have been learning about the life cycle of a plant.

The children enjoyed investigating different types of seeds and predicting what they might grow into. We discussed how to plant a seed and learned about the key things plants need to grow and stay healthy.

In Geography, KS1 have been learning all about Peru.

This week, we explored the human features of Peru, including Machu Picchu. The children created some fantastic drawings of Machu Picchu and wrote an interesting fact to go alongside their work.

PE days for Year 1 & Year 2 are on Mondays and Wednesdays 

We have begun a new text called 'The Egyptian Cinderella' by Shirley Climo and we have been comparing it with a traditional version of Cinderella and looking at features of traditional tales.

This week, the children were thinking of times when they felt a range of emotions and how these feelings could be inferred. They brainstormed ideas and then created sentences practicing this difficult inference skill (show not tell).

We have been developing our journalism skills by writing newspaper reports inspired by The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes.

After closely reading the poem, the children transformed the events into engaging news-style articles. They focused on using formal language, powerful headlines, eyewitness quotes and factual reporting to bring the story to life. The finished reports were proudly published in Pages.

Our annual summer event, Sandfest, is happening on Saturday 20th June 2026 — and we’d love your help to spread the word! 🌈🎉
We’re looking for families to volunteer to have a Seymours estate agent board outside their home to help promote Sandfest. 🏡✨

It’s completely free, and for every board put up, the PTA receives £10 — such an easy way to support our school and help make Sandfest a wonderful success! 🙌💛
The boards will be displayed for a few weeks leading up to Sandfest and removed afterwards.
