And I love love LOVE some aspects: choice, universal access to tools, using tech, honoring the diversity of learners! What I continue to need help with is how to problem-solve things like:
* when you place a code word or something into a blended lesson/ or have students complete a quick formative assessment after blended learning lesson... kids in 1rst period immediately text their friends the code word or the answer or whatever.
* when you create amazing fun stations of editing your paper for this and that... students never wrote the paper, they don't want to do the station, or they chat gpt-ed the paper and it doesn't need to be edited.
* when the standard and summative assessment (OSAS) are pretty black and white: "student will write routinely and be able to produce 8th grade level formal writing pieces..." how do I make sure students are getting the practice they need if they mostly want to not write.
* When they always want to easiest choice...
