         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em><mark>Location and Population</mark></em></strong></p><p>Curuzú Cuatiá is a city in the southern part of Corrientes Province, northeastern Argentina. It serves as the administrative center of the Curuzú Cuatiá Department. According to the 2022 census, the department has a population of around 51,532 people.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong><em><mark>History</mark></em></strong></p><p>The city was founded on November 16, 1810, by General Manuel Belgrano during his campaign to Paraguay. The name "Curuzú Cuatiá" comes from the Guaraní language and means "engraved cross". Key historical events include the Battle of Pago Largo in 1839.
