Hi guys. I've had a session today with a young student who is refusing to show me drafts for a piece of work he is struggling with. I have tried getting him to do work in the sessions I have with him, but he refuses to continue this work in his own time and never brings anything new to our sessions. I see him once every week, so he has ample time. I've drawn up a day by day timetable to help him organise his time and have agreed to look at email drafts, but neither seem to be working. I have an appointment with his tutor next week, any suggestions until then? Jessie x

I have a student who is practically pretty weak, when given suggestions she argues them or makes excuses as to why she can't do something.
Today I pushed her out of her comfort zone a little and once she realised she was more capable than she thought she rode much better and cracked on... result!! I would definitely do this again in the right environment. :) Jo
