*The Puritans believed that God had formed a unique covenant or agreement with them. They believe that God expected them to live according to the scriptures, to reform the Anglican Church.  
*Since the Puritans had a theocracy, when someone was accused of witchcraft they could persecute them through the government/law. 
*The theocracy was designed to bolster this, judging individuals on both political and spiritual levels. 
*Everything the Puritans did was to please God and to get into heaven.

-Truman issued an executive order called the Loyalty Order which mandated federal employees to be analyzed for complete loyalty towards the government.
-The Civil Rights Movement gained traction as African Americans began fighting against racial discrimination starting with the argument against separate education.

 -Salem Witch Trials began in 1692 after a group of young girls claimed to be possessed by the 🤬. 
-Contrary to popular belief, no one was burnt at the stake, alleged witches were hung.
-Over 200 people were accused of being witches, however only 25 were killed. Additionally, two dogs were hung.
-Of the 25 murdered, two of the people were infants.
-The Salem Witch Trials ended because the governor's wife was accused of being a witch. The governor, Sir William Phips, put an end to the trials and pardoned those convicted.
