Diary Entry – 10th Day of the Harvest Month, 1294 (mazin allam)

The keep is quiet this evening, and I stand upon the walls, looking out over the vast fields. The sun sets behind the distant woods, and the air smells of damp earth. As a knight sworn to Lord Hargrove, my days are spent both in training and in service. Today, I spent hours on the practice field, teaching the young squires how to handle their swords. Their clumsy movements are a reminder of my own early days in training, but they show promise.

Afterward, I met with some of the village farmers to discuss the harvest. There is a shortage of hands this year, and many fear the winter will be harsh. I find myself troubled by the weight of it all—protecting the land, serving my lord, and seeing to the welfare of those who work it. Though I am proud of my role, the constant duty wears on me. I long for a moment of peace, but duty is duty.

Peasant's Perspective

February 2, 1345

Today, I woke up early in my small cottage made of wood and straw. The roof is low, and the cold air seeped in through the cracks. Outside, the frost clung to the trees, and the ground was frozen, making it harder to walk across the fields. The village looks quiet from my doorstep, with the smoke rising from the chimneys of my neighbors’ homes. The only sounds are the distant crowing of roosters and the soft bleating of the sheep.

As a peasant, my life is all about working the land and serving the lord. This morning, I had to make sure the animals were fed and that the barn was secure before I joined the other villagers to mend a fence that had been damaged in the last storm. Later, I spent hours in the fields, trying to clear some of the frozen soil so we can plant in the spring. My back aches from the heavy work, and the cold makes it hard to feel my fingers.

I'm tired and sometimes frustrated with the never-ending work, but I also feel proud that I’m doing my part for my family and for the village. The lord’s steward came by this afternoon, reminding us that the harvest will need to be good this year so we can pay our taxes. He even mentioned a possible punishment if we don’t meet the lord's demands. It always fills me with dread knowing that, no matter how hard we work, the lord will still take his share. Afterward, I spent some time with my children, who were playing in the snow. It’s moments like these that remind me that, despite everything, we still find small joys in life.

Mohamed Younis 7B,,,,,,,,

Diary of King Edward III

Year of Our Lord 1356

Today, I awoke in the grandeur of my royal chambers, the golden tapestries shimmering in the early morning light. The air was cool, carrying the faint scent of burning wood from the great hearth below. My attendants dressed me in my finest robes, adorned with the royal crest, before I stepped onto the balcony to survey my kingdom. Below, the capital bustled with life”merchants haggling in the marketplace, knights patrolling the streets, and peasants beginning their daily toil. Though my palace is a fortress of stone and luxury, I am not blind to the struggles of my people. The burdens of the throne weigh heavily upon me, for each day brings new challenges that require wisdom and strength.

After breaking my fast with bread, roasted meats, and spiced wine, I met with my royal council in the great hall. The lords spoke urgently of rising tensions with a neighboring kingdom, urging me to prepare for war. Our treasury is strained from previous campaigns, and I must decide whether to impose higher taxes upon my subjects or seek new alliances through marriage and diplomacy. It is a difficult choice, for an unhappy nobility may rebel, yet a weakened army could leave us vulnerable. By midday, I held court, where peasants came to plead for justice. A farmer begged for protection from raiders pillaging the countryside, while a nobleman requested more land to expand his estate. Each decision I make ripples through the kingdom, affecting lives both high and low.

Later in the afternoon, I rode through the castle grounds, watching the knights train for battle. Their swords clashed against shields, the sound echoing through the courtyard. I spoke with Sir William, one of my most trusted knights, who assured me that my army stands ready should war come. As the sun dipped below the horizon, I retired to my chambers, the weight of my decisions pressing upon me. Ruling a kingdom is no easy task; power is both a gift and a curse. Yet, I must lead with wisdom, for the fate of my people depends on my strength. As I set down my quill, I can only pray that my choices will bring prosperity and peace to my realm.

Diary of Lord Hamzah of Greenfield

October 5th, 1320

Today was a busy day. I woke up early when the sun was just starting to come up. The castle is big and old, made of stone, and it’s always a bit cold in the morning. My land is full of fields, and there are many people who work them. They grow our food, like wheat and barley. I have to make sure they are working hard and that the crops grow well.

In the morning, I walked around the fields with my steward, Master Eamon. We checked to see how the barley was growing. Some parts are good, but others are not doing so well. We might not have enough food this winter if the crops don’t improve. After that, I went to the village to see the farmers. They asked if I could help them with their tools, as some of them are broken. I told them I would send for the blacksmith to fix the tools soon.

Later, I met with Sir Edmund, one of my knights. He told me that some of the villagers have heard about robbers in the nearby woods. They are scared that the robbers might try to take our food or hurt the people. I told Sir Edmund to get the knights ready to patrol the woods and protect the village. We must make sure that everyone is safe.

In the evening, I sat with my wife, Lady Eliza, and we had a quiet meal. She told me she worries about the crops, too, and whether we will have enough food for the winter. I told her that we will manage, and we have to trust in God. After dinner, I went to my study to write this diary. I feel a little tired from all the work today, but I know I must keep working for my people.

Tomorrow will be another busy day, but I will do my best to help my people and protect my lands.

Diary of King Edmund III

Year of Our Lord, 1257

Today, I woke in my grand castle, high above the village below. From my window, I saw fields stretching far into the horizon, the peasants already hard at work. The stone walls of my home are cold, but the tapestries and roaring fires keep the chambers warm. Servants rushed in with fresh bread, cheese, and wine for my morning meal.

As king, I rule over this land, and every decision falls upon my shoulders. This morning, I met with my advisors in the great hall. They brought news of a dispute between two lords over land. I listened, then gave my judgment—one must surrender some land, for peace is more important than pride. I could see the anger in his eyes, but none dare defy my word.

Later, I oversaw the collection of taxes. The peasants grumbled, but without their labor, my knights could not be paid, and my castle could not stand. It is the order of things, yet sometimes, I wonder if they curse my name when they return to their huts.

At midday, I met with my knights. Our borders are threatened by invaders, and Sir William, my most trusted warrior, assured me that my army is prepared. I must trust him, for while I wear the crown, I cannot wield the sword in every battle.

As night falls, I sit in my great hall, surrounded by lords and nobles. Minstrels play, and jesters entertain, but my mind is elsewhere. A king’s duty never ends. I must always be strong, for if I falter, my kingdom will fall.

Tomorrow brings new challenges, but I will face them, as I always do. For I am king.

When I was a kid, I lived in a small village near a big castle. I started out as a page, learning how to behave properly and serve the knights and lords. I’d run errands, help with their armor, and listen to the stories of brave knights who fought in battles. When I turned 14, I became a squire, which meant I worked for an actual knight. I’d help him with his armor, take care of his horse, and train with him in sword fighting and riding.

Finally, at the age of 21, I became a knight. It was a big ceremony. I knelt before my lord, and he tapped me on the shoulder with a sword, officially making me a knight. From then on, I wore shining armor, rode a strong horse, and went into battles or protected the land.

I also had land to take care of, so when I was™t fighting, I’d make sure my people were safe and worked the land. I followed the code of chivalry, meaning I had to be brave, honest, and always protect the weak. Being a knight wasn’t easy, but it was an honorable life, full of duty and pride.

Outside, the village was still asleep, and I could hear the sounds of the blacksmith hammering at his forge. My room looks out over the courtyard and the far fields, where the peasants work.

I am a knight, so most of my day is spent getting ready to protect the castle and the people around me. This morning, I practiced with my sword in the training yard. It’s important to stay sharp in case I’m called to fight. I also helped Lord Geoffrey check the castle’s defenses. There’s talk of bandits in the area, so we need to make sure everything is safe.

In the afternoon, I spoke to Lady Eleanor. She’s worried because the villagers are unhappy about the taxes. I promised her I would help protect them if things get worse. I know the peasants have a hard life, and it’s tough to see them struggle.

As the day ended, I felt tired, but proud of the work I’ve done. The air is tinged with pine, and sounds of villagers starting their work carry up the hill.
I woke up for practice, as would be expected from a knight, with my sword in my hand, riding through the forest to keep my skills honed. There are rumors of trouble at the borders, and I must be ready. Later, I helped with the recruiting of young men for the lord's militia. Lord Alistair wants the defenses strengthened, and I fear for the men who will leave their families.
I also met with Steward Gregory to check on the tithe collections. The harvest has been decent, though it could have been better where wheat was concerned. It is part of my duty to ensure the serfs are doing their part so the keep remains well-fed.
The lord's daughter, Lady Eleanor, spoke with me of her desire to aid the village in its winter preparations. She is too often confined to the castle, and I mentioned to her that we would visit soon, after the harvest.
As I sit by the fire tonight, the weight of my duties weighs heavy. Of course, I live in the best of castles in my kingdom, with beautiful landscapes and many houses of my people. I absolutely know my responsibility of ruling my land. I have to help my people know what to do, as according to the feudal system. Today I have seen the land, sent some people into the dungeon, and looked into any plans I have for coronations and parties. I have seen my serfs, knights and lords work well enough and I have checked many other duties like tax and religious acts.

I am very proud of myself to be a wonderful monarch myself, doing lots of work and making sure my kingdom is safe. This is my duty to handle my country from above, telling others what to do. Although it can be tiring, it is also helpful to the thriving of my civilization. My religious lords have realized that there are more people joining the religion. I hope it will make a turn for the better for less conflicts if it stays like this. I have a party coming in a few days, celebrating the 53rd anniversary of my country, as I am having a feast.

Diary of King Edmund III
Year of Our Lord, 1257

Today, I awoke in my grand castle, towering above the village below. From my window, I gazed upon fields stretching endlessly, the peasants already toiling at their work. The stone walls of my fortress may be cold, but the warmth of roaring fires and ornate tapestries makes these chambers bearable. Servants entered briskly with fresh bread, ripe cheese, and fine wine for my morning repast.

As king, the weight of this realm rests solely upon my shoulders. This morning, I convened with my advisors in the great hall. They brought before me a quarrel between two lords over a contested strip of land. After careful consideration, I decreed that one must relinquish part of his claim. Peace must prevail over pride. Though I noted the flash of anger in his eyes, no one dares to openly challenge my word.

Later, I oversaw the collection of taxes. The peasants murmured and groaned, but their labor and sacrifices are the lifeblood of this kingdom. Without their contributions, my knights could not defend us, and this castle would crumble. It is the order of things, yet I cannot help but wonder if curses against my name echo within their humble huts.

At midday, I met with my knights. Grave news arrived that our borders face the threat of invasion. Sir William, my most loyal and trusted warrior, reassured me that the army stands ready to defend our lands. Though I wear the crown, I cannot wield the sword in every battle. I must place my faith in those who serve me.

As the evening descends, I sit in my great hall among lords and nobles. Minstrels play their melodies, and jesters bring laughter, but my thoughts wander. The duties of a king are unending. I must remain steadfast, for any weakness in me could spell ruin for the kingdom.

Tomorrow will bring new trials, but I am resolved to face them, as I always do. For I am king, and my people depend upon me.

**February 2nd, 1345**The cold grips the land tighter each day. My back aches from working the frozen fields, but the harvest is still far from enough. The wife, Elinor, keeps the children warm by the fire, but there is little food left. The bread is almost gone, and I fear we won’t last until spring.Father Albin came today, offering his prayers, though I wonder if they will help. I lie awake tonight, praying for a better tomorrow, though I know the work will never end.- Sohaib

Dear Diary,

As I got out of my straw-stuffed mattress, the cold of the dawn poked my skin. The fields, which were covered in a thin layer of frost that would soon melt due to the sun's weak warmth, extended well beyond my little wooden hut. Beneath the imposing stone walls of Geoffrey's castle, my village was a collection of modest houses that served as a constant reminder of our place in the world. My days are long and difficult as a peasant. Although Geoffrey owns the land, I am the one who tills the soil and plants the crops. In order to prevent stray livestock from damaging the crops, I spent this morning fixing a damaged section of the fence close to the wheat field. My back hurt from bending over the frozen ground by midday, but there was no time to relax. We will suffer through the winter if the harvest is poor. Geoffrey's tax collector showed up this afternoon on horseback, his elegant cloak a striking contrast to our frayed tunics. Many of us had little to offer when he demanded our dues, which included fresh eggs and bushels of grain. My neighbor, Old Walter, begged for more time, but the collector simply sneered and rode off. I'm concerned about Walter's family. They won't survive until spring if they don't have enough food. Some days, I dream of a different life, one in which I own the land I farm and am not subject to labor. However, that is not my destiny. Like my father, I am a peasant, confined to this land. Nevertheless, it gives me some solace to know that my efforts provide food for the entire village as well as my family.
Now that night has arrived, the only thing preventing the darkness is the faint glow from the hearth. The work resumes tomorrow.

17th Day of Harvest Moon, Year of Our Lord 1263

The chill of autumn lingers in the morning air as I rise before dawn, donning my mail and fastening my surcoat emblazoned with my lord’s sigil. The life of a knight is not one of idle luxury, as some might believe. My sword arm grows weary with each passing year, yet I must remain ever vigilant, for duty binds me as tightly as the links of my chainmail.

At first light, I rode to the training grounds, where the young squires clashed with wooden swords, their eyes filled with the fire of youth. I drilled them in swordplay and mounted combat, reminding them that skill in battle is our only shield against dishonor and death. My own squire, young Thomas, shows promise, though his enthusiasm often outpaces his discipline. He will learn, in time.

Upon returning to the keep, I met with Lord William, who spoke of troubling news from the borderlands. There are whispers of bandits harassing the villages, and he has ordered me and a small company of men to ride out on the morrow to investigate. A simple raid, perhaps, or something more sinister—only time will tell.

Before nightfall, I visited the chapel to seek God’s blessing. The priest reminded me that a knight must be as noble in heart as he is strong in battle. I pray he speaks the truth, though I sometimes wonder if steel and faith alone can protect us from the chaos of the world.

Now, by candlelight, I set aside my quill and prepare to rest. Tomorrow may bring bloodshed, but such is the way of the sword. My duty remains, as ever, to my lord, my people, and my honor.

Sir Edmund of Ravenshire

Dear Diary, my name is Josh. Today I woke up in my wooden bed in my house that is made out of wood, I am married with a lovely wife and 2 kids, and in the village that was always loud, many people yelling and begging for food, and with many fields that I can see from a far. I am a peasant, As a peasant, I have to harvest the crops, and make sure that there is enough for the entire kingdom, I do this since the emperor is very strict and is very serious about it. if I don’t do it, he might sentence me to my death. Being a peasant is not quite nice, it’s tiring since I have to plant the food for the entire kingdom and I have to make sure that there is enough or else there will be consequences. My life is not really that bad since in the end of the day, I can see my wife and kids, as long as I’m alive and my family is safe. I will be ok. Yesterday, one of the knights came to house and knocked on the door, It was the knight, telling us that the entire kingdom has to be there, but the conversation went like that when I answered the door and asked “Is there something wrong”?, he replied with, “No, but I am here to inform you that we will need the entire kingdom to go to the castle since the emperor wants all of us to say a speech”, I told him “ok, me, my wife and my little ones will be there”, he said, “ Okay, make sure to be there at six am,”, I said,“okay thank you”, he “you are welcome, “Goodbye”.

At 9:30 1775 in the morning as a peasant I live in a town with huge buildings. Around that is all a desert where we cannot escape from the town so we are forced to work. As the peasant I have the least amount of power I work for everyone else above my level. Today I needed to help the king to lift barrels I couldn’t take a break which is suffering and the rest of the day I helped the knights get their swords. Different people had different jobs so they made me do anything the other peasants needed help with, so I do every job. My role is one of the most important roles and one of the most hard working jobs. This is why I am so angry of how they treat us, they treat us like trash. Here is a real life conversation with me and the knights: The king told you to do your work not slack off the job, I said ok I will get back to work. A conversation with the lords: Sir I will do my job now, the lords say: good hurry up so we can expand the land. A conversation with the king: Sir please let me get a 5 minute break, the king says: NO YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR OUR DEVELOPMENT AND NO RAISE, Me: Ok I am so sorry for asking, the king: you got extra work for asking.

Hello, I am a peasant, I live in a farm near my town to farm crops. My farm is always surrounded by lords taking my harvested crops. The sun is always shining and I always sweat while trying to work on the farm, it does not help with the pressure of lords watching. Today while I was picking crops, some lords came in already asking for crops at 6:00 AM, I had to give them my latest harvest, but it wasn’t enough, so I had to make a whole new batch in 2 hours, or I’d be whipped.

I am done with my work for today, and I thought it was the perfect time to but all my thoughts from the past months into this entry. I feel very frustrated that I have to spend most of my day working on a farm, we already have a surplus of crops. They just want us to work all day and all night. I feel like if I was a monarch it would be very comfy. I can just sit in a chair and run a while town, though it could be stressful it’s way better than what I’m doing right now.

The weight of my role in the town is very stressful. We single handedly provide everyone in the town with food and materials. There are always lords who whip us when we don’t reach the very high quota. One harvest could feed 5 families, and there are only around 60 families. At least I have shelter and the same food I harvested for free, but everything else is on our no payment work. All and all, I hate my role and I’d like to be a lord or monarch.

As a monarch I wake up in an amazing view of a 5 star pool were my fancy breakfast and coffee and orange juice coming on my bed by my servants then I sit all day getting paydays and paying salaries while getting taxes monthly and then meeting with other monarchs of other countries then I go to talk with my friends, sometimes watch football matches then I sleep. My role as a monarch is to protect my country with strong armed forces and also making sure that everyone is sheltered and has equal rights as everyone else and making the law apply to everyone even to me. I feel proud that I am a monarch but also tired as it is always wars and meetings and solving racial problems and getting the peasants rights. The peasant visited today and he promised that he will serve me in a nice way, make me yummy food, and always he has to pick my cotton and iron my cloth every day

I woke up in my castle remembering I'm the king of the lands, I looked through the window to see the lords lining up outside to give me their tax, I walked into to my dressing room to change into my royal robe, I walked down the stairs greeting my royal knights and headed to collect tax.

while walking down the stairs, I remembered how nice it was to rule this peaceful kingdom protected by a vast forest acting as a barrier.

before I knew it I was already standing in front of the first lord, He greeted me respectfully and gave me his tax, the rest were all the same, they greeted me respectfully and gave me their tax.

Soon in the afternoon, I walked into my vastly large dining room to see that my chefs have prepared all my favorite meals, I thanked them and tipped them for their great work, I ate my lunch and headed to my throne and requested for a jester due to me being bored, the jester entertained me until night time, I allowed him to go rest and I headed to my dining room for the last meal of the day, it was a nice large warm Boal of soup and a nice hot chocolate.

It was time for me to sleep because the next day I had to say a speech to the peasants and lords, I played down on my bed and slept peacefully.

Diary Entry - 8th of March, Year 1347

Hi I’m sultan Alsoairy and this is my story of being a peasant

The sun is just coming up, and I’m already out in the field. It’s cold, and the ground is wet with morning dew, but I have to start working. I plant seeds, fix the fence, and take care of the animals. Being a peasant means working hard every day. I help grow the food and take care of the farm so that my family can eat. My hands get dirty, and my back hurts, but I know it’s important. When the crops grow, we can have enough to eat and sell in the market. It’s a hard life, but it’s all I know.

Today, I talked to old Maura. She lives in the little cottage next to mine. She’s slower than she used to be, but she still grows the best vegetables. We worked together fixing the wall around her garden. She told me how she plans to sell her eggs and vegetables at the market, and I told her about the sheep that’s not feeling well. She gave me some herbs that might help. It felt good to talk to her. Even though we work hard every day, it’s nice to have friends to talk to and help each other out.

I might be tired at the end of the day, but I feel proud of what I’ve done. The land is hard, but it gives us what we need if we take care of it. Planting seeds and growing food might seem small, but it’s the most important thing in the world. Without it, we wouldn’t have anything. Even though life is tough, it’s mine, and I wouldn’t want to live any other way.

Today, I woke up in my hut overlooking the farms. As a peasant, I have to collect certain crops and plant some too. I was directly forced to exit my house and go to the farm to collect crops and plant them. I went to the farm alongside my brother and my mother. My mother’s duty was to collect wheat. My brother and I’s duties were to collect carrots and corn.

I had to ensure that the crops were harvested by 6:00pm as the lord counts on us to deliver the crops to local markets by that time. The wonder monarch visited us today along side his guards to ensure that we’re doing the right work. Harvesting the crops today were really hard as the weather was very hot. I was very dehydrated but luckily the lord came and supplied us with water in order that we can continue our work. We finished our harvesting by 5:45 pm and I got to see my family at home. Working today was very tiring as the weather was very hot.

My life as a knight in the Feudal System:

I am a knight in the feudal system, and I live in the kingdom of the monarch. Since I swore to protect the kingdom with my life, the monarch provides me with a house, water, and food. My environment is filled with different knights that also have the same things as me. As a knight, I spent most of the morning practicing with my sword and bow and arrow to prepare for my lord's call to battle. My responsibility is to protect the kingdom with my life. Today there were some invaders who entered the village and tried to cause havoc, but me and the other knights had to protect the kingdom and send them back. I feel tired but proud after today's training, knowing that my skills will protect the people in our village and that I should be thankful for what the kingdom provides me. While me and the other knights were practicing today the king came in and thanked us for our work and gave us a tip for our hard work.

I woke up and I saw the fields had to be harvested today. I, as a peasant must tend to crops and harvest them. I’d have tsp make sure that the crops were harvested on time too. It’s imperative that I ensure a good and on time harvest. It’s important for my to do my job and I’m glad I am able to do it. If I don’t do my job then everybody would starve. It’s a priority of mine that the fields and harvest are the best. But I wish I could live as luxuriously as the lord or the king. Maybe I can be happy in the fields.

Today the local lord promised a feast if we get a great harvest. If we can get a feast we’d have enough energy to plow the field for a thousand years! So I’m doing my best to make sure we get the best harvest. One of the knights had chased a wolf that tried to eat our crops and I decided to go out and thank him. He told me that he’s just doing his work. I wonder what it would be like to be a knight. It’s too bad I have to plow the fields while the lords and the king live without struggle.

Today i woke up in one of my amazing villages and happy to have another amazing day. when I wake up i greet all of my workers and family and then go to my room adn start meditating and thinking what i should do that day. Today i lived in my 3rd village because i am the king of 3 but i always rotate and decide that day whee i should live. My house has 7 bed rooms and 11 bathrooms and i have 3 houses that i live in every week. I have knights that work for me and i also have many peasants that are around me the environment is good but i have no body on my level. I am the highest level of everybody because i am a king and no body is on my level. As a king i sometimes help the people and don’t regally like them doing all the work. I let some people live in my villages for free and i help the peasants with resources. I had to make sure that everyone had to live a good life bit still do their work and i collect some peoples crops and give the peasants their resources. I feel good that i am the highest level of people and that i can help them but I don’t like that some of my family members are waiting for me to die so they can take my roll. I don’t like how the peasants always do all the work so whenever they go to collect me some crops I go and help them. I am also grateful that the knights are there to protect me.

I mostly live in a stone house,it is mostly part of a larger castle or defensive manor , or within the borders of his lord’s castle. The houses thick walls and towering turrets offer both defense and protection over the surrounding land, which is often dotted with smaller houses and farmlands. My chambers are modern but well built, with a good wooden bed, a chest for personal belongings, and an mixture of weapons hanging on the walls—swords, axes, a shield, and perhaps a banner with my coat of arms.

Outside the house, the surroundings are mostly a mix of cultured and wilderness. Fields of crops or vegetables are removed from the ground by peasants, while the forests and hills beyond the castle gives us resources like wood. My duties include making sure the safety of these lands and the people living on them. The castle is mostly busy with activity, servants preparing meals, blacksmiths working on armor and weapons, and other knights in training or discussing matters of state.

I am a member of the noble class, but my role is clear from that of a lord. His position within life comes with a great deal of honor, but also a strict code of responsibility. I am expected to fight for the lord, protect the weak, save justice, and maintain the order of the land. Knights are often granted their own territory, either instantly or not, as a reward for battle. These lands are worked by peasants, and while the I don’t typically work the fields, I am responsible for overseeing them, making sure taxes are collected, and defending them from threats.

Today, I spent much of the morning in training. My sword and shield were tested in combat, and I practiced riding my steed, preparing for any skirmishes or battles that might come. Afterward, I spent time with a group of young squires, teaching them how to properly care for their armor and weapons. As a landowner, part of my duty is to mentor the next generation of warriors, ensuring the future of the kingdom's defense.

In the afternoon, I met with the lord to discuss matters of the realm. The lord was concerned with the growing unrest among some of the peasants, who had been complaining about rising taxes. I was tasked with investigating the situation, as well as making sure that the levy was collected without incident. Though I knew that many peasants struggled, I also understood that taxes were necessary to maintain the lord’s military presence and the castle’s fortifications.

Feelings About His Role

Mt role feels a mix of pride, duty, and exhaustion. I am proud of my status and the respect I commands, but there is a weariness in my bones from the never-ending duties that I face. Every day is a balancing act—protecting the lands, serving my lord, and maintaining the honor of my family. I often longs for peace, yet I know that it is my responsibility to stand ready for battle at a moment’s notice.

After meeting with the lord, I feel a sense of frustration. The lord’s concerns are valid, but I also know that many peasants view knights as oppressors, taking more than their fair share. While I don’t relish the thought of taxing the poor, I understand that a failure to do so would leave the kingdom vulnerable. I can't help but wonder whether there is a way to ease the burden on the common folk while still maintaining the castle’s strength.

A conversation with the lord lingers in his mind. The lord, a stern but wise man, had asked, “Do you feel the weight of the crown, Sir Malik? Do you see the faces of those who look to us for protection and justice?” I answered truthfully, “I see them, my lord. And I carry their hopes and their fears with me, always.” The lord nodded, a silent understanding passing between us. We both knew that being a knight was more than just a title—it was a commitment to the people and the land.

Tonight, as the sun sets behind the house and the distant sound of a horn echoes from the battlements, I feel a quiet contentment. The road ahead may be uncertain, but I am prepared for whatever comes. The weight of my armor might be heavy, but I resolve is even heavier.

They have done well this season. I will plan a big feast to thank them for their hard work.

In the afternoon, Sir Poppya came back from riding along the borders of my land. He said bandits have been stealing grain from nearby farms. I cannot allow this! I told him to gather the knights and protect the villagers. I trust Sir Edward to be brave and strong.

At night, my family gathered in the great hall for supper. The fire crackled, and the smell of fried chicken and Kool aid filled the room.

Hi, I am a knight, I woke early when the sun rose. I dressed in my strong yet heavy armor. Next, I traveled to my practice field and trained with my sword. I hurt my arms, but I must practice daily to become strong enough for my life as a knight. I rode my horse in my walls to ensure everything was secure. A knight must ever stand prepared to defend his lord’s lands.

Next, I rode with my lord to my village to collect taxes in coins, grain, and wool, for one farmer could not pay in coins. One farmer seemed sad and told me that his crops grew poorly this year, and therefore, he could not pay. I felt sorry for him and asked my lord whether I could grant him a little more time. My lord agreed but for a short period of a week or two. To become a knight, I must obey orders, but I try to act with kindness, too.

I cleaned my sword and armor when I returned to my castle. Next, I sat in my great hall for my meal. I consumed a big plate of warm soup and roasted meat, and a group of performers played for me and my fellow knights. I sat with them and discussed battles and training. I'm exhausted, but I'm happy with my work. To become a knight, I must not have an easy life, but I will try my best at all times. Tomorrow, I will practice again and stand prepared for whatever comes my way.

Diary of a Peasant - 2nd February, 1345

The day started early, long before the sun rose. The cold air cuts through my bones, but there’s no choice but to get up. First, I took care of the milking the cow, feeding the chickens, and checking on the sheep in the barn. The fire was low, so I had to gather wood before the cold overtook the house. The frost on the ground made everything harder, but the animals must be fed, and the work must be done.

After the morning chores, I tried to plow the land, but the soil is frozen and hard, so its slow work. I spent most of the day chopping wood to keep the fire going. The trees are bare, and the wind howls through the forest, but the wood is needed. I also fixed a broken fence, though its nothing more than a quick patch. The wild boars have torn it down before, and they will again if I don’t stay watchful. There’s always something that needs fixing, something that could go wrong.

By the time evening came, I could hardly move. The stew was thin, just barley and some old roots, but it filled my belly enough to sleep. Sitting by the fire, my body aches from the day work, but tomorrow will be the same. There’s no time for rest, no hope that life will change. We live the way we always have, working the land, feeding the animals. Its s a hard life, but its the only life we know. And so, we endure.

I talked to my Lord, and he commented me to clean he’s castle for a monthly wage of 2 silver coins?

February 2, Year 1250

Dear Diary,

Today was a busy day on the manor. I am a peasant, and I live in a small wooden hut with my family. The roof is made of straw, and the floors are made of dirt. It gets cold at night, so we keep a small fire burning. In the morning, I woke up early to help my father in the fields. We planted wheat and took care of the animals. The lord of the castle came by on his horse. He told us we must work harder to grow more food. My hands are sore from digging, but I must keep working. After working in the fields, my mother sent me to fetch water from the well. The bucket was heavy, and my arms got tired, but I made it home without spilling too much.

I feel very tired, but I know I must do my job. Sometimes I wish I could be a knight and ride a horse instead of working in the fields all day. My friend Tom said he wants to be a knight too, but we are peasants, so we cannot. The knights train with swords and wear shiny armor. I wonder what it would be like to live in the castle and eat big feasts. Before bedtime, my mother gave me some bread, and I sat by the fire to get warm. My little sister fell asleep next to me, and I listened to my father tell a story about the old days. Tomorrow will be another long day, but I hope it does not rain.

dear readers,

I am here to tell you about my life as a lord. Alright, listen up. As the lord of these lands, it’s my job to take care of the people and make sure the land does well. We’ve worked hard to build this place, and I’m the one who makes sure everyone follows the rules. The farmers work the fields, and my knights are ready to protect what’s ours. But if anyone tries to go against me, they’ll have to deal with me. Loyalty to your lord is important, and betrayal won’t be allowed. That’s how we keep things going strong, even when times are hard, like when other people attack. everyday when i wake up what i do is that i get ready, then go to check on my farmers, they always work very hard, but i just told them to schedule the crops to grow just in time, so that it is fresh. then i check on my knights, help them keep there swords sharp and there formations ready for battle at anytime, i kind of feel bad for them, we never do anything like battle, maybe once in a lifetime. which makes me sad because they are awake all night long waiting for something. then later in the afternoon i go to check up on the master, give him anything he needs, stay with him, protect him, let him have his privacy, and act like his slave. we have a tradition of thanking our king for every kind action he has done and helps us keep our life together. in the night i have my freetime where i rest, eat, drink, and sing songs with my fellow lords.

Dear Diary,

I woke up on a beautiful sunny day in my small village where I work. My small little hut waiting for the day to commence. As a peasant I normally spend my day working long hours planting food, keeping livestock, and mostly just working in the fields. I do this for the people to eat. I have a few responsibilities some being that I need to make sure all the crops and food are fresh and healthy. This is important so the food tastes good and nothing goes wrong. I also have to take care of the livestock and make sure they don’t run away.

Overall I feel very exhausted working many hours and sometimes wish I didn’t always have to work. I always look on the positive side and I am humble since I’ve been a peasant all my life. Today a knight said to me “ HEY Get out of my WAY I don’t want to see you again you filthy peasant.” Everyone talks to me in such a rude and mean way. I’m so depressed and I do want to do this anymore.

Dear Readers,

Today, I woke up before sunrise in our tiny, cold cottage. My family and I share one room with a straw roof, and the ground is made of dirt. Outside, the fields were covered in frost, and the air smelled like smoke from the village fires.

As a peasant, my life is hard. I spend most of my days working on the lord’s land. This morning, I went to the fields to dig and plant seeds, even though the soil was frozen. My hands were numb, but I had to keep going because if we don’t grow enough food, the lord might punish us.

By midday, I helped my father fix a broken fence near the pasture. The sheep were wandering, and the lord’s steward told us to fix it quickly. We worked hard, but I felt tired and hungry. Still, I feel proud when I think about how much work my family does to keep the village running.

Later, the lord himself rode by on his horse with his knights. He barely looked at us, but one knight told me to work faster. I didn’t say anything back—I couldn’t. At least the lord promised a feast if the harvest is good this year. I hope that means we’ll have enough to eat soon.

Even though life is tough, I’m grateful for my family. We take care of each other, and that’s what keeps us going. I just wish there was a way to live without working so hard every single day.

Dear Diary,

Today I had to wake up very early and work as, I am a peasant and a slave for the king. My income is very low, yet I work so hard. I work from 6 AM until 6 PM. I can only have a small snack after 6 hours which is half of what I work. I live very far from where I work so I have to wake up at 5 AM. The king bosses me around and I clean his WHOLE palace which is MASSIVE. After I am done with my shift, I have to go back home WALKING. That is because I can't buy a horse as I have a low income. On the way home, I got some food for my family which is very hard as the food and groceries are heavy. After I finally get home, I eat and sit down on a rock chair. My wife tells me "Why don't you ever quit? You have a very hard job!" I tell her, "This is the only job and besides, I work for THE king." I continue, "I really don't want to talk about this right now, I am very tired!" The chair is very uncomfortable compared to the king's couches and chairs. At 8-9 PM I go to sleep because I have to wake up very early for work and I am very tired. I sleep on the floor with only rocks as pillows. As you can see, my life is VERY hard as a peasant.

Good night.

Dear Diary,

Today, I woke up humbly from my bed to my lovely family in our small wooden house, ready to go to work on the farms to feed them. I get a knock on my door from the landlord reminding me of the given assignment. "OH YEAH", I say. Today, the food I harvest today will be fed to the King of my Dukedome AND the famous Belgian dukedom. A lot of pressure has been set, and the landlord told me I'm doing it with my fellow peasants, my landlord said "You've been good so far, so that's why I have chosen you and some more peasants for this task." Although I am a peasant, I finally feel proud of myself for once, all of a sudden I say, "I love this job!". Now I'm out in the fields doing my responsibilities, but now I realize, "HOW CAN I FEED 2 KINGS AND MY FAMILY?". I quickly ran to my landlord telling him this, and he returned... a rather angry message, something along the lines of "Are you seriously favoring your family over the kings, are you mad?" This shows how the king only cares about himself, and the landlord only cares for himself and the king.

March 15, Year of Our Lord 1273

Castle Blackthorne

The chill of early spring lingers in the air as I sit within the great hall of my castle, the fire crackling in the grand hearth. Through the narrow stone windows, I see my lands stretching far beyond the fields beginning to show the first signs of growth, villages nestled among rolling hills, and the distant woods where my gamekeepers hunt for fresh meat. Blackthorne is a sturdy keep, built to withstand both the harsh winters and the occasional raids from those who would dare defy my rule.

As a lord, my duty is to oversee these lands granted to me by my liege, King Edward, and to ensure that my vassals serve me as I serve him. It is no small task, managing the affairs of an estate this vast. Today, I spent the morning meeting with my steward, who informed me that some of the peasants have struggled to pay their tithes. A poor harvest last autumn left many with little to spare. I have granted them leniency until the next season, but I must ensure they do not mistake my mercy for weakness.

At midday, I rode out with my knights to inspect the garrison. Training must be kept sharp, for although the kingdom is at peace, one must always be prepared for war. The men drilled with sword and lance, and I took to the lists myself, testing my skill against Sir William, my most trusted knight. He is a fine warrior, and he nearly unhorsed me—a reminder that even I must keep my blade honed.

This evening, as I dined in the hall with my family and trusted advisors, a messenger arrived from a neighboring baron. He brought word of a dispute over grazing rights near the river that divides our lands. It seems Baron de Montfort believes his cattle should have free range, while my shepherds claim otherwise. I shall have to send my own men to mediate before this quarrel turns to bloodshed.

I am proud of my station, though it is not without burden. I must balance justice with strength, mercy with order. A lord’s duty is never done, and though my castle walls are strong, it is my leadership that truly shields my people.

By the grace of God, may I rule wisely.

Lord Robert of Blackthorne

March 15, Year of Our Lord 1347

Today, I woke in the grand chambers of my castle, the stone walls adorned with rich tapestries depicting the triumphs of my forefathers. From my window, I looked out upon my kingdom—rolling green hills, vast farmlands, and the bustling market in the village below. The scent of damp earth lingered in the morning air, and the distant clanging of the blacksmith’s hammer echoed through the castle courtyard.

As king, I bear the greatest responsibility of all—to rule justly, defend my realm, and ensure my people prosper under my reign. My lords rely on me for leadership, my knights for purpose, and my peasants for protection. The weight of the crown is heavy, but it is a burden I must carry with honor.

Today was filled with council meetings. My advisors and I discussed the ongoing war with France, the latest reports from our spies, and the collection of taxes from my vassals. The kingdom’s coffers must remain full to fund our army, yet I know too heavy a tax upon the peasants may lead to unrest. Balancing power and mercy is no simple task.

At midday, I met with Sir William, one of my most loyal knights, who had returned from battle. His armor was dented, his face weary, yet his spirit remained unbroken. He spoke of victories and losses, of brave men who had fallen in my name. I assured him that their sacrifices would not be forgotten. A feast shall be held in their honor, and their families shall be cared for.

Tonight, as I sit by the roaring fire in the great hall, I feel the weight of my duties. I am proud of my kingdom and the strength of my rule, yet I cannot ignore the burdens that come with power. The throne is a place of great privilege, but also of great solitude. Still, I must endure—for my people, for my legacy, and for the future of England.

Tomorrow, the work continues. A king’s duty never ends.

ABDULLAH ISMAIL ROLE: KING

I rose early this morning, the cold stone walls of my castle cool to the touch, with the soft murmur of the village below gradually rising to meet the day. Before me, my kingdom spreads across rolling hills and into the thick forests, the river coursing like lifeblood right through the heart of it all. As king, my role is protector and ruler, a juggling of constant decisions that decides the fate of my people. Today was one of those days filled with so many responsibilities: meeting with my council to discuss potential threats from neighboring lands, inspecting preparations for harvest, and pouring over tax rolls to make certain the wealth of the kingdom was being managed wisely. I mediated a land dispute between two quarreling lords, an affair that surely would have sparked violence had I not intervened. Work is never done. I wear the weight of the crown heavily, part pride in what I have accomplished, part weariness for the never-ending duties. It's an old burden but no lighter. It was later in the day that one of the lords from the east, Lady Elira, came to speak about the river trade routes. A walk in the garden while she spoke of focusing more on securing those routes, so as not to invite future instability, I listened well to, knowing full well the weight of her words. It's these moments that remind me of how every action I take sends ripples across the land, how the duty rests at my door like a shadow.

Today woke up feeling rich and comfortable in my king sized bed as the nice calming wind filled up my room since I am in the top of castle.

As king, my duty is to rule wisely, protect my land, and maintain the loyalty of my lords. This morning, I held court in the great hall, where disputes were brought before me. A noble sought my judgment over a land dispute, while a messenger from a distant lord arrived with news of unrest on our borders. I ordered my knights to prepare for a possible campaign, should diplomacy fail.

By noon, I had met with my advisors on taxes and winter provisions. The harvest was fair this year, but the people grumble at tithes. A wise ruler must balance strength with mercy; I can't afford weakness, yet I must keep my people content.

Let none think the weight of the crown weighs upon my head. The rule is firm, my kingdoms strong, and my legacy untarnished; yet, there is much about power being burdensome, as even a king must look inside his house for betrayal.

Tonight, at least, awaits a feast indeed of nobles and warriors come into my hall; as I lift my goblet in toast, I am well aware that even though today the throne might be mine, nothing is secure then. Ever prepared must the king be.

April 14, Year of Our Lord 1263

Today is a hard yet honorable day in service to my liege, Lord Geoffrey of Whitestone Keep. The sun barely rises when I take to the training grounds, the cold bite of morning air sharp against my skin. As a knight, my duty is to remain ever vigilant and prepared for battle. I spend hours drilling with my sword, ensuring my strikes are swift and true, and practicing on horseback, for a knight is only as skilled as his steed allows.

At midday, I go to the great hall, where Lord Geoffrey speaks to his vassals. He talks gravely of rumors of bandits terrorizing nearby villages. He commands that I lead a small party of men-at-arms to patrol the roads and ensure the safety of our people. It is an honor to serve, yet I feel the weight of responsibility upon my shoulders. If I fail in my task, innocent folk shall suffer.

On our patrol, we meet a group of weary peasants who speak of stolen livestock and burned granaries. Their fear is clear, and I vow to them that we will put an end to these attacks. I know not whether they see me as their protector or just another armored noble, far removed from their daily struggles. It troubles me, for though I train for war, I do not wish to see hardship befall those under my lord’s rule.

As night falls, I sit by the fire in the barracks, my armor resting beside me, my body weary but my spirit resolute. To be a knight is to be bound by honor and duty, to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Yet, I wonder—do the battles ever end? Or do I wield my sword until my final breath? Only God knows what fate has in store for me.

I pray for strength and courage on the morrow. May I serve with valor and uphold the chivalric code.

Sir Edmund of Whitestone Keep

I woke up at 7 AM in the morning to prepare for the war that will happen in my kingdom. There was a lot of issues during the preparations. There were lack of the resources we didn’t have a proper military organization.

Being a king Comes with a very big responsibility There are a lot of things to do as a king like preparing military, Placing people in the hierarchy, so everything comes in balance and many more.

But I sometimes feel positive and negative sometimes. I feel positive when whenever something goes well or like how I Wanted it to go and it feels so good. But sometimes I feel negative when something bad happens or a betrayer Is among my peaceful citizens.

My relationships with the other people are very fair like for example I treat the peasants very fairly, I Don’t Overwork my knights, and the lords I take their ideas and examples. But I don’t give mercy to my Traitors.

As the days go on my army was prepared, and my resources were perfect and we prepared to fight with our enemies. The fight took so long days, weeks, even months. But finally, we won after a lot of hard work, but even though my work as a king is not over.
