During their free time, most students go to grab a book to read either individually or with a friend. It is the students responsibility to recognize when they need to be productive and read. I would absolutely use this in my classroom and incorporate an small assignment for after their reading like drawing a picture or writing about what they read. I would do this to be sure they are actually spending their time reading and not just looking at the pictures.

Since they helped come up with the promises, they are all aware of the rules and the consequences that could occur if they are not followed. I will use this in my classroom and have students sign it so we can have an agreement. Below the calendar is where the students can access the computers or i-pads. Students’ will take turns completing their i-Ready minutes by finishing at least 20 minutes a day. They know they are supposed to complete their reading on Mondays and Tuesdays and their math on Thursdays and Fridays.
