The earliest reference to tuho being played on the Korean peninsula is during the Gorguryeo Kingdom. It appears that it fell out of fashion for a while, and then was popularized again by King Yejong of Goryeo period in 1116.

According to a historical record, he ordered to publish a rule book of Tuho with pictures to revive the game and the government made an attempt to restart it systemically using the rule book.

What fascinated me the most was the fact that I could control the difficulty of the game with much ease. That is, the farther one stands apart, the more difficult it becomes to make it. Moreover, its rule is really simple. Just throw an arrow from a set distance. So, I didn't have to explain how to play it in detail to my son. I was truly able to enjoy it, giving myself a handicap to compete with him. Indeed, throwing the arrows about 8 steps away from the pot was a challenging mission stimulating a sense of rivalry. It also reminded me of other childhood plays I used to enjoy with my old buddies.
