If you like another tutorial more/find it easier, that's totally fine! The end results is the same and I don't want something as small as a magic circle to keep people from trying new things when crocheting. My advice is to follow along with each video and see which one feels the most right depending on how you hold your needle and yarn.

Rose and Lily crochet was one of the first channels I watched constantly as a beginner.

Their tutorials are bright and descriptive and they helped me to learn how to read patterns as well!

Every video is captioned with the direction you would find on a pattern. Since I was watching and doing what the caption said, it wasn't intimidating to see similar directions in written patterns later on. 10/10 would recommend.

Amigu World is another channel I used a lot as a beginner and continue to use. She is constantly posting new things, including characters like Cinnamoroll!

The best part of these tutorials is that it's easy to get the same kind of final product using acrylic yarn, which is more affordable than most yarns and can be found widely.

I like this creator because she takes her time to explain things during her tutorials. She has a whole playlist of left-handed amigurumi tutorials.

Yarn Society is another channel that has both left-handed and right-handed tutorials. I like her for beginners because she has tutorials using both acrylic and soft chunky yarn.

Hobbii-Online Yarn Store

Hobbii is a site I use for some more specialized yarn. They have sales often and filling your cart to a certain amount will ensure free shipping.

If you create an account on the site, you will gain points for every order as long as you are signed in when you make the order. They have a point store where you can redeem points for cool accessories and sometimes yarn as well.

They do ship from Denmark so it does take a little while for shipments to come in but always worth it in my opinion. I love looking for yarn during the holidays because they have special yarns for Halloween and Christmas!

Premier Yarn-Online Yarn Store

Premier Yarn is another site I order specialized yarn from. I love that they have lots of color options for chenille yarn, such as the neon yarn shown above.

Make sure to check how many yards a project asks for so that you get enough. The drawback on premier yarns is that a lot of them are smaller skeins so you need more for a project than you might from another brande.

New England Yarn (it's here in Southington!)

New England Yarn is great for more high quality yarns and it's right here in Southington!

The owner is very nice. If you're interested in experimenting with yarns like wool or alpaca, there are a lot of options you can see and feel in person before committing to something online. These yarns will be more expensive than more common yarns like acrylic or chenille.

Joining Amigurumi Pieces Together

Color Changing

This is probably the best and cleanest way to transition between colors. If you are still unsure about the differences between the front and back loops of a stitch, start with the process detailed below and move your way up to the seamless method.

Safety Eyes vs Felt Eyes

I am a big fan of safety eyes. They come with washers to help them hold and they can be found in lots of different sizes and colors. They even have specialized ones like glitter ones or snake eye ones.

Some people are not comfortable with the use of safety eyes, particularly if they are selling their finished products/giving the finished product to a young child. Some people are afraid that small children or pets can eat the safety eyes, so they prefer products that use felt eyes.

You can buy felt eyes, such as these. Some may come with a peelable back while others should be fastened on with strong glue or sewn on with thread. You can also make your own felt eyes like this.

Lastly, some people just decide that they'd rather embroider their own eyes.

Again, pick what's right for you! I have used every single one of these methods in projects before.
