Our exciting exhibition is called Volcanic vengeance!

We tried to make public know about one of the most dangerous natural disasters. For example, 1883 erruption of Krakatoa in Indonesia was deadly.

Our team wanted to simulate how volcano eruption affects climate change.

If we push the erupt button, the volcano model erupts, and lava comes out. It harms trees, houses, and people near in town. Also, smoke(model of volcanic smoke and ashes) will get up to atmosphere, and hovers there. That would effect the climate of earth, along with acid rain caused by the substances of ashes.

Also, volcano eruption can cause other natural disasters chronically as well, like tsunamis, landslide, and flash floods.

With this 4D Flood Simulation, individuals can stand inside a glass box, and see a flood occur in real-time, at full scale. The glass ensures the person is protected, and can be entered by a hole in the floor. The rainwater is stored in a compartment above the artificial clouds, and after the flood simulation is ended, it is pumped back up via a drain and a pipe that leads back up to the compartment. Inside the glass dome, there is information on the walls about the causes and effects of a flood, buttons to start and reset the simulation, and speakers that emulate the sounds of wind gushing and water rushing, and a wind system to blow strong winds at the individual, immersing them in the simulation. This allows people to truly experience the feeling of a flood and the scale of possible damage as the water rises above the glass box.

It is mainly caused by a combination of natural and artificial factors. It was caused because of excessive rainfall, melting snow in spring, tsunamis caused by typhoons and earthquakes… The link between excessive rainfall and climate change: First, more heat from the sun causes greater evaporation. Secondly, more moisture forms clouds and heavy rain. Floating makes destruction of agricultural land and forests, water pollution and ecosystem destruction. Also it damages housing and infrastructure and increases recovery costs. People lose their life and disease. In South Korea, record-breaking rainy summers in 2020 led to widespread flooding and extensive damage across the country. In Malaysia, heavy rains in Kuala Lumpur caused flooding in six urban areas and caused parliamentary proceedings to be suspended. These cases show that the Asian region continues to suffer serious damage. So, some countries, including Taiwan and Korea, are developing programs to predict and prevent floods. The program uses big data to predict the probability of floods and their magnitude, taking into account terrain, precipitation, temperature, humidity, etc.

It causes. This machine produces large tsunami waves through a device that generate artificial waves, and the model city inside the machine is engulfed and submerged in the tsunami, making it easy to show how the tsunami affects the general population in residential areas and urban areas.

Earthquake is the earth surface caused by the sudden release of energy in the earth’s crust. This kind of disaster is a scary disaster that makes the ground shaking, avalanches, fires and tsunami. Earthquake is most common disaster in some country. Our exhibit shows that to create more weights and gravity at the bottom at a building so it would stand back onto the ground instead of the whole building falling (it weighs less at the top).

In our exhibition, we provide an explanation of tsunamis, we also highlight preventive measures that can be taken at home and at shorelines to minimize damage and protect lives.

Additionally, we explore the causes of tsunamis and share fascinating facts about some of the largest tsunamis ever recorded in history. Through this exhibit, we aim to increase public awareness and understanding of this natural disaster to reduce the risks associated with tsunamis.
