As Covid-19 outbreak made its name in 2020, our future lifestyle will surely be getting affected. Currently 100 percent of global destination is required to implemented travel restrictions. So nearly every country practically restricted their foreign nationals’ communications. In Asia region, the closest example we can see is our beloved country, Malaysia. Our government limit all the entry to the citizens, family members, students and more. It’s different story for our neighbors, Philippines where they allow their spouses and selected visa holders to gain access in. Singapore restricted all foreign nationals except with prior government approval and their SHN policy. India done the same but certain eligible nationals are allowed. Then we got Japan who allows borders to open for study, work or family purposes and all arrivals must be followed by Covid test within 72 hours.

As all nation are fighting the undeniably tough times at the moment, there are some individuals out there that did not get enough recognition on their achievements against this nobel coronavirus. Dr Bonnie Larson, family medicine physician, and Dr Alan Chu, anethesiologist had helped in terms of childcare across the Calgary, Canada. Larson talks about how sad she felt when she described her conversations with parents about youth’s different childhood. But the closest that we can admire is Dr Noor Hisyam Abdullah, the Malaysian Health Director General. His hard work and service leading the frontlines for the sake of our nation had successfully manage to flatten the Covid-19 curve. He also received the BrandLaureate ‘Most Outstanding BrandLeadership Award’ for his role of handling the pandemic. “Both of these awards reflect the dedication, commitment, sacrifice and resilience of every individual in the Ministry of Health and various agencies to provide the best healthcare service for the Rakyat and nation,” Noor Hisham wrote. As the time goes by, the hope and fight will always light up for us to go through this pandemic.

Who would have guessed that in a brief period of time, a market and a city would become known the world over? The coronavirus arrived and changed the way we live, the way we travel and it also has changed education forever. The outbreak of Coronavirus negatively affected educational activities worldwide. Most governments around the world decided to temporarily close educational institutions in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID 19. Schools closures impact not only students, teachers and families but have affected economic and societal consequences. School closures in response to the pandemic have shed light on various social and economic issues, including student debt, digital learning and many more. The impact was more severe for disadvantaged children and their families, causing interrupted learning, compromised nutrition and economic cost to families who could not work.

Besides, it can affect the quality of teaching and learning and academic achievement particularly for students with special needs or those with learning difficulties that often requires more physical attention and guidance for the teachers. Though, technology can be used to remedy some of the fallout from schools’ closures, but it cannot replace the important effect of face to face interactions by students and teachers. Many students do not have the necessary access to supportive technologies which make it harder to maximize the potentials of learning technology during school closures. By having this outbreak, it has forced millions of students to study and learn from home. This is not a new phenomenon because the home has long been epicentres of learning particularly as regards informal education. Apart from the cost of accessing online education, many other factors such as network issues, poor power supply, distractions and availability issues can also hinder smooth study from home. We have seen a move towards technology that will likely reshape our relationship on communication platforms, especially if some schools remain closed in the fall. Students around the world have been thrown for a loop, trying to not only adapt to digital classroom but excel in online environment.

REFERENCES:

Darlene, D.

Everyone loves to travel and most of the time our friend and family choose Europe as their favorite destination. This makes European Union countries is the world's number one travel destination in years past but that was before the COVID-19. The pandemic brought tourism economy to a screeching halt that has been especially hard for Europe and the other continent too. Border shutdowns and restrictions for international flights have shown many jobs that rely on foreign tourists and it depends not only on airlines and tourism companies, but also on busy travel for hotel cafes and businesses.

According to UNCTAD, COVID-19 pandemic brought international travel to an abrupt halt by the end of the first quarter of 2020 and had a major impact on the tourism industry. The tourism sector is a major source of jobs, government revenue and foreign exchange earnings for many developed and developing countries. Let’s take a look to Asian continent, with a friendly culture, world-famous food, and a good mix of islands, South East Asia is another hotspot for traveling. According to Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, tourism is one of the economic sectors hardest hit by the coronavirus and is expected to be the last to recover. Statistic shows the pandemic also had decreased the employment volume by one percent 14.93 million people in the last period.

The questions are will tourism ever bounce back to its pre-pandemic highs? Could this extended off-season be an opportunity to rethink travel for the future?

References :

1. Bernama. (2020, June 27).

Entertainment industry is a big production industry that play a role in our life. This is because it can be defined as a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience, or gives pleasure and delight to them. Unfortunately, due to recent situation which is known to be COVID-19 pandemic that has spread across the world definitely has put all of the activities that involve a big production into halt including entertainment sector. Broadcasting, film and music are known to be part of the entertainment industry. Back in March 2020, no one would expect to face this situation. Most business were forced to close and they were ordered to stay at home and only went out for important business only. Everyone was trying to follow and adapt to the restriction order movement that every country has issued, therefore we were unable to travel oversea or local. This situation certainly affect overseas filming and cancellation of many concert tours.

Even after post pandemic, entertainment industry might take time to recover. It seems that they have to adapt with the new norm where entertainer and art activists have to use technology such as Instagram, Twitter or Zoom to interact with their fans all around the world. Michael Bush, Assistant Director of Practice at College of Arts says that pandemic will offer a remarkable opportunities on exploring new ways to produce content. “Plays on Broadway are already being adapted to be performed on Zoom,” says him. Also, online streaming like Netflix, Apple TV and Disney+ has increase in term of the user because movie production find it worth invest in this situation where everyone is glued to the phone. This industry can still be treated if they find a way to retrieve it back, in a new way.

REFERENCES:

1. Amanda M.

I strongly agree with the statement above. As we all know, by having this outbreak or the impact of COVID 19, has forced many businesses to close, leading to an unprecedented disruption of commerce in most industry sectors. Besides, the COVID 19 outbreak is likely to cause bankruptcy for many well-known brands in many industries as consumers stay at home and economies are shut down

Assalamualaikum and Good Afternoon. So, today we are going to have a forum about future 'Global Travelling' after post- pandemic and the implications on the educational, industrial, governments, entertainment and health sector.
As we know, global travel has been one of the affected sector but obviously how will it revived from it? Definitely they have to still follow the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) to avoid any difficulties or any infection with the virus. I think that is the crucial part for future global travelling especially in this situation if they are trying to recover from it. Next, I am going to past to our panelists to talk more about the implication on other sectors.

In this post, it will discuss about the implications towards the Industrial Sector.

First and foremost, if we look back the world before the pandemic the global travel has been rising and growing for the last decade. In 2015, according to data from the UN World Tourism Organization, more than 1.2 billion people made an international trip in 2015 and this is expected to increase 50 percent to more than 1.8 billion world travelers over the next 10 years. (n.d., Visa-Leading Global Payment Solution). However, the prediction resulted in upside down when the Covid-19 outbreak hits in 2020. Therefore, the global travel and tourism industry has been struggling in facing the implications of the current pandemic. Moreover, the industrial sector has been badly affected by it and there are a lot of staggering outcomes.

For the first example, of the implications of the pandemic towards the industrial sector is the airlines industry. In Malaysia, thousands of airlines workers including pilots, steward and stewardess that has been dismissed. For example, in the early June of 2020 AirAsia has terminate 111 flight attendants, 172 pilots and 50 engineers. Riad Asmat, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Berhad quoted as saying that the situation faced by AirAsia Berhad was extremely difficult and that all measures to reduce cost, monitor internal and external factors were inadequate. (Najib Aroff, 2020) The multimillion-dollar company had to closed down all its division under them that has caused hundreds of airlines workers lost their job.

Other than that, many businesses have been badly impacted by this unprecedented situation. Businesses in retails and brands has faced many short-term effects such as losing sales and market. Nevertheless, it is predicted that they will be able to overcome these effects in the future but not for certain businesses. Businesses that involves hospitality and tourism is expected to demolish. However, there is also a flip side to this matter, as online business industry such as online shopping, online entertainment and online communication are seen in staggering growth.

References List:

Here are 8 ways travel will change after the pandemic.
