I am writing to you because I have learned many things over here in the United States. At the beginning I was not used ton the way of life over here, but soon I came around and now i understand. Their different, but good their government is not the same as ours. Also their language is a little weird but its O.K, they don't call black people "Bantu" over here. For example, some things aren’t band here , you have to do things on ur own , and some things are called different. They also treat everyone the same here . Blacks and whites can go anywhere together . I have to say they have more freedom over here . I learned that everyone is the same , and it doesn’t matter about there color .

Dear Father, 
My time in American has been truly amazing. I’ve made new friends and the family is so nice and caring. I’ve learned many new things as well like, how their government works. Blacks, whites, Asians. Any race is welcomed and isn’t judges by the color of their skin. I hope that one day I will be able to come back and have even made fun. Whites and blacks can live in the same neighborhood and have the same things. I wish our government and country could be like this.

My experience in the United States is better than i thought i with a black family that is not like how it is in South Africa the blacks and the whites work together. The Blacks or the bantus is not as bad as you make them. The whites don't beat the black people like at home. They americans get to watch anything they wanna watch. When I first went to America I thought that everything that happens in South Africa was going to be the same in America but everything is so different and at first I was pretty upset that I had a black host family but as time went by they actually started feeling like family and now I start love it here in America. It’s different down here because black people don’t need passes to do anything. There’s where Africans and whites are able to talk and be in places together instead of whites having separate rooms from Americans. I’m made my first black friend , we had our ups and down but we was like best friend.And I learned more thing about South Africa so when I get home I’m goin to teach so more stuff about South Africa .

The Apartheid can't go on like this it's wrong and you know it eventually the people and or citizens that doesn't like the Apartheid is going to grow bigger. Also, I went to a ice cream place and a black boy (BANTU) waste ice cream all over a white man and he didn't even hit him and that incident reminded me of the incident back into South Africa. The Africans deserve the freedom that they want. can i ask you a question what is apartheid many people have had signs and have been screaming and shouting about apartheid in south Africa but that's not the case i really miss you mom and my brother and always flora  and I've been at school and reading lots of books and all of the whites and blacks are treated the same other than what it is back home but we also watched bio-scopes but they call them movies but the movie we watched was nothing i have ever seen usually we are not are not allowed to watch those kind of bio-scopes but it was great and  can you believe that the people who work in office are blacks such as my friend  piper dad is black and he's a congress man  there  rules and things are way different from south Africa but i am having fun...see you when i get home.

When I first visited America I met my friend Piper she was a nice friend to me even though we argued we got over it and I thought they said something about me because my father is a South African cop and my friend Piper dad was a  Congress man and I felt bad after Beco died from the cops beating him it could have been my dad and I got mad at Piper cause she was speaking true facts about what cops do and called my dad and other cops a pig I didn't like what she said about my dad but her dad cheer me up.

Throughout my trip in america i have realized that whites and blackes are treated equally amongst each other and are respected on the same level. In addition to that, it changed my perspective on what were doing in south africa with aparthied and how it is wrong in multiple ways. My time in da United States with the Delluyms which was a black family was very fun and a tiny bit stressful. There were very little problems such as when the embassy tried to take me home but other than that, people here are treated differently and, when I say different everyone was treated the same.

In the United States I thought it was going to be different because all bantu's South Africa our country have to wear a pass to go places but here they just go anywhere, in the United States we were equal but in South Africa we are not equal and we have to ban movies,books and our flag. In South Africa we call blacks Bantu,Kaffirs,Afrikaans and more, I don't like calling them that or I dont like being separated from bantus.

The first time I visited the Dellums I was very confused because I did not expect the congressman to be black. And I realized that they probably expected me to be black. One main thing Ive noticed was that there is no aprtheid in the USA and people are mostly nice to eachother.Maybe our country could be like that.

 What has happen so far in my experience in the United States has been confusing, and things have been very different the people have been different especially the way they treat blacks. They treat them as equals and there are people protesting to treat them as equals in South Africa too. My time with the Dellums has been wonderful and Mr. Dellums is actually a black congressman. Going to the United States was fantastic. The citizens their are so nice and I've even made friends with the Dellum's daughter, but did you know that the Dellum's are a black family it was such a shocker but when I got to know them better they turned out really nice. I've also noticed that black people here does have have passes on were they are supposed to be, and the're are great books here about black African history that must be banned in South America at least I think i'll check when I get back home. My experience going to the United States was magnificent. It was difficult for me to get used to my surroundings, because the U.S is very different from South Africa, but I came around. Did you know that the Delluym's are a black family? They are really marvelous and cool and they did so much to help me. The Delluym's have a daughter my age and we got along really well and did some fun things together. I learned so many things about South Africa in the U.S that I didn't know before like why things where banned in South Africa. They didn't have certain rules that we do back at home. My trip to America was very interesting. I experienced people with equal rights. Thats right us white Afrikaans and the Bantu have all the same rights in America and i dont understand why we cant all be like America. I admit that it was a little shaky at first but, I warmed up to them and they warmed up to me. Im glad you let me do the exchange.
