The women's right movement was very important in history. This gave women rights to actually do things other then having their men do things for them. People realized it's time to give women some rights! They held a convention in Seneca Falls.
At this convention there was the declaration of sentiments. This gave women so many more rights and much more freedom! Slowly more and more things got better for women to the point where women and men are now almost treated equally.

The Abolitionist movement was greatly needed! I think that slavery is unacceptable except that is definitely not what the South thought. During this time blacks and whites were speaking out about slavery. Some people wanted people to feel "liberty and equal."
Many people spoke out about this and even made people change their minds about slavery. Some even wrote a book one book is the Liberator. Fredrick Douglas was the leader of the abolitionist movement and soon the amount of slaves were decreasing a little bit in the North. The south though still has many slaves! Even tough this movement didn't work completely it showed how bad slavery is.
