Personal Nature

This photo reminds me of memories that will forever be in my heart and soul. Reminds me of the summer days when all of the windows are down, the volume of the music playing all the way up, a breathtaking view of our beautiful world, and a map with a bunch of different places to visit, but not knowing where to at the moment. During these adventures I learn new things about myself. I learned that I cherish these memories because I feel peaceful, like a therapeutic way to let go of stress. I feel as if I am a part of nature. I feel self reliance because with that map I am able to travel anywhere, my choice. What makes this picture transcendental are the beautiful woods. There isn't much, no houses, and not very many people; just peace.

Ralph Waldo Emerson best articulates the idea that spiritual well-being is more important than ones social well-being. In both of his essays "Self-Reliance"and "Nature" Emerson celebrates the idea that people should experience the meaning in life through a connection with themselves, art, and nature.
According to Emerson in his essay Nature " I become a transparent eye-ball; I am nothing; I see all; the currents of the Universal being circulate through me;"(365). Emerson describes how he spiritually connects with the "Universal being" through them whenever he's in touch with nature. In Emerson's essay Self-Reliance he says "Absolve you to yourself, and you shall have suffrage of the world"(360). The author is explaining that connecting with yourself helps you become accepted and comfortable with yourself. These two quotes by essays of Ralph Waldo Emerson describe the definition of spiritual well being, which explain how Emerson spiritually connects to nature to find a true meaning in life.

This song relates to spiritual well being and close relationship to nature. The singer describes how Earth is our home and we have privileges but we abused Earth, and nature and it's affecting our lives now.
-"Earth, our home. Incubator of life."
Here Willow speaks about Earth being our home, so we should respect it because it took us in.
-"...because nature's a battle and nobody ever handled it the way our ancients did."
Willow believes humans have changed Earth a lot, but not in a good way. She feels like we have destroyed some parts by placing cities, and creating wars.
-" I encompass your lights, I inhabit the divine, I."
Willow describes a spiritual connection with the universe, when she talks about the lights she refers to the stars.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PepvagQxS4s
