Dyeing Easter Eggs

What it symbolizes:

The egg symbolizes life and creation

The red color symbolizes the blood of Christ and His sacrifice

How it is done:

The eggs are boiled

They are dyed mainly red (although nowadays other colors are also used)

Many people decorate them with leaves or patterns

The “egg cracking” tradition:

On Easter Sunday, people crack their eggs against each other saying:

“Christ is Risen!”

“Truly He is Risen!”

The winner is the one whose egg does not crack!

Festive magic in our classroom!

🐣🎨 On the eve of the most joyful Christian holiday, Easter, a cheerful creative workshop was held in the premises of our regional school in the village of Konjsko.

Our classroom was too small today to gather all the joy, but it was filled with many colors, smiles and positive energy.

At this joint gathering, the students, together with their parents, showed that cooperation and creativity know no bounds.

Through the skillful hands of the little creatives and their loved ones, ordinary materials were transformed into unique Easter decorations, colorful baskets and beautifully decorated eggs.

Why is this important to us?

🐣 Such meetings are much more than ordinary creation. They are moments when we strengthen the bond between parents, children and the school, creating memories that children will carry with them forever. Through the colors and symbols of spring, we together cherish tradition and aesthetic values.

I extend my deepest gratitude to all the parents who took their time and with their dedication contributed to a truly festive atmosphere.

💝 I am proud of my students who once again showed that they are true little artists!

Traditional Greek Easter Bread
On Holy Thursday, people in Greece prepare special Easter bread called “Tsoureki”.
It is decorated with red eggs, which symbolize life and resurrection.

Our students made Easter cards and they made Easter baskets to put their red dyed eggs in!!!Red dyed eggs, or kokkina avga, are a Greek Orthodox Easter custom.The eggs are usually prepared on Holy Thursday to symbolize the blood of Christ and the resurrection.

The students also prepared and baked Lazarous bread which is cinnamon bread in a human shape .Another Greek Orthodox Easter custom.
