We can build an attractive bench and a square. In my neighborhood, we don't have any bench. The bench will become a place where everyone in the neighborhood will come to sit. Older people stop to take a breath. Kids will sit there when they play together. They stop and talk to the person. The bench will come popular. We must add additional bike parking, plant trees. We must create more local and downtown public libraries. They are real civic places where public life and community building happen. 

First, I think that school trains us for yesterday's trades: banker, accountant, cashier… and not for tomorrow’s trades. 
I also think that the French education system is very stressful because from the start of school so around 3 years old, we are faced with competition and I don’t think that it’s a good idea because it’s a lot of pressure and it could be very bad for pupils. 
I hope that the French education system will be inspired by the Finnish education system because in Finland the pupils are not put in competition before the age of 6 years which favors mutual aid. They also work 2000 hours less than young French people, which reduces this stress which can be a real obstacle in their studies. They also learn things that will be useful to them in their future lives; DIY, cooking....... 
The French education system has good sides because it helps pupils create their opinions, express themselves and I think it’s very important. 
Now, let’s continue with education system in general. I hope that we’ll learn sign language and Braille at school because it would help people communicate. And I hope that we’ll talk about difference and ecology at school. I hope that we’ll learn how to live together to respect and accept each other.

To make global warming slow down and perhaps stop it, we can do many very simple things like:

· Sorting our waste

· The use of glass jars instead of plastic bag bottles

· Saving water

· Privilege organic farming in the open air, agriculture.

· Educate children from school and teach them to respect their environment.

Doing this will help us reduce our ecological footprint.

But I also think that we must develop new technologies to make energy (like solar panel, tidal turbine… and other renewable energies) and I hope that these new technologies will respect our environment.

Why are some people are persecuted because of their origins, their religions, their skin colors? To answer these questions, I am going to use testimonials, articles, and extracts of reports….

Boys and girls:
In this part I'm going to talk about gendercide in Mexico and in general, sexism, and the difference in wages ....

In 2019, in Mexico, 3800 women were assassinated. The reasons: “too much make up” “Your skirt is too short” “You can’t leave me!” To stop this gendercide many women protested against that, especially during Women’s Equality Day. Unfortunately, the government does not punish these crimes which target women; in fact, 99% of these attacks, these murders are not punished. Women feel in danger, they worry for their sisters, their mothers……

And this situation is the same in India (they kill their daughter because “girls only bring misfortune”) or in Canada (a boy who was rejected by a girl posted on facebook a message inciting men to kill all girls: see the Elliot Rodger case).
The difference in wages:

I don’t understand why men earn more money than girls. They are doing the same job but because she is a girl, she is going to earn less money than him. It’s nonsensical! In France, a girl who has the same job as a boy will earn less money than he does, she will earn 450 less than him. And the thing that I find the most absurd is that we do debate on the hijab and not on these inequalities between women and men. 

I also don’t understand sexism, we are in 2020 and some people always think that women are made to stay at home and to take care of their children and their husbands. Some people think that a woman must not work because if she works or goes to school, she steals men’s place. Or, she has to dress like this and not like that. I hope that mentalities are going to change, and that everyone will understand that men and women are equal!

Social classes:
There are many differences between social classes. These differences are visible in several countries like Saudi Arabia, USA, and Hong Kong and in cities like in Sao Paulo…. In these cities there is social and spatial segregation.
The picture of Sao Paulo below shows this spatial segregation. 
Poverty can also make people change and make them do things like stealing, killing, selling drugs, to survive. And I hope that it is going to change. I hope that infrastructures will be able to accommodate the poor, allowing them to get treatment and go to school, and that living conditions for workers will improve.

Now, let’s talk about why some people are persecuted because of their origins, their religions, their skin colors.

Racism and religion:

Freedom of religion, freedom of worship or freedom of belief refer to the fundamental subjective rights of people to choose and practice a given religion or none. (Wikipedia)

Take the case of a religion which is the subject of sometimes absurd debates, Islam.

Islam is an Abrahamic religion based on the dogma of absolute monotheism and having its source in the Koran, considered as the receptacle of the word of God revealed, in the seventh century in Arabia, to Muhammad who was proclaimed by adherents of Islam as the last prophet of God.

Some politicians always speak of Islam as a religion which incites believers to kill in the name of Allah. They call Islam a violent religion. But I don't think they did research on Islam, because if they did research, they would see that Islam is a religion that does people good and has never told them to kill or do bad things. Some politicians spread hatred against Islam and Muslims. In france the law punishes incitement to hatred and violence. And as we can see, this hatred is based on false accusations. These accusations are due to people who use Islam to cover their own mistakes.

These false accusations have generated some absurd debates like:

- Debate over a language (in 2017-2018 for example): In France, some politicians debated whether it was a good idea to learn Arabic at school. Some people said that it was good because it would allow us to work with countries that speak this language and develop new business, learn new things, access a new culture: poems, books… And other politicians said that it was a bad idea because learning Arabic would convert everyone to Islam (far right ideology). Today, in France, the Ministre de l'Education Nationale is in favour of it, but you can learn Arabic in some rare schools only, or you can learn it at a distance with the CNED.
- Debate over the headscarf or hijab: in France, some politicians have wondered whether it was a good idea to wear the hijab. Some people said it was a good idea because if a woman wants to wear it, she can do it. If we ban it, it's like depriving her of her choices so in a way of her freedoms. And others said that she can hide weapons under her headscarf... or was it the full veil... ? But they also said that to wear the hijab was a sort of submission of the woman to her husband. 

Religion is a choice, and no one should judge it. We are free to have or not to have a religion, and no one should judge you because you are a Muslim, a Christian, or a Buddhist ... and no one should compel someone to become a Muslim, a Christian, or a Buddhist. No one should use religion to cover up their own mistakes. 

"No one was born a racist"

I hope that we will learn how to accept and respect each other (choice of religion, choice of sexual orientation ....). I hope no one will be discriminated against because that person is a girl or a boy or because they are black.

I also hope that the police blunders will stop. I don't understand how someone who must protect us is killing us. Just because a person is black doesn't mean that this person is dangerous.

I think we must continue to protest against these crimes. Many people were killed without reason and many families were destroyed.

I think these crimes should be punished.

And I am going to finish with common racism:

Common racism is a type of racism that can be found all over the world. It is short sentences, nicknames and remarks which may seem insignificant, but which are not. These remarks and these nicknames are hurtful and form some they contain a cruel story.

So, I hope that everyone will end this common racism because it is disrespectful and hurtful. Lastly, I hope everyone will think about the meaning and history of a nickname before using it, as this video about common racism for Asian people shows:

-  Not to have specific schedules but a certain number of working hours. To be able to work in better conditions and productively, when I want.

- Thanks to the lockdown, I understood that I was more productive at home. And this is why I would want to work from home one or two days per week.

- I would like to be paid depending on the work done. If a person works more and better than a person who works less and badly, I want the person to be better paid.

- I would like the place where I work to respect the environment and use renewable energies like:

   -wind turbines to produce electricity of light bulbs.

   -solar panels to produce the electricity of computers and other devices.

- I would like to work outdoors when it's sunny so as not to be confined indoors all the time and make the most of nature even when I work.

And as Albert Camus said: "There is no dignity in work except in freely accepted work". So, we must choose a job in which we flourish and are happy.

- stop using pesticides on crops.

- Stop being dependent on petroleum and other fossil fuels.

- Limit the carbon footprint on food and everyday objects.

- Let the animal populations develop so that each one can pick up again their role. (ex: Pangolins).

- Make more recyclable and biodegradable items.

- Use public transport or your bike in big cities.

All these little things will stop global warming and the survival of humanity. Everyone must be concerned with what is happening to our planet and the future. And as Victor Hugo said: "It is a sad thing to think that nature speaks and that mankind does not listen". So, to save our planet, we must unite to change things and protect ourselves.

With this pandemic, to be in quarantine forced us to learn how to work under different circumstances. It was a good experience and I think more compagnies must experiment teleworking in the future. It is another way to work, in line with sustainable development, less damage for the environment. I saw that working at home allowed to work more, we don’t lose time driving home to workplace and workplace to home. However, it also taught us that direct communication is very important in the world of work, and without that it can’t go as well between people. To see the person in front of you is beneficial and indispensable. I would like other modes of working to appear, such as work with a group of 5, in the house of a member of the group, so it can be more constructive, creative, calm, with less people in the same place. Or, we could create places like parks, gardens for work, that are quieter and would avoid the construction of buildings like offices. And maybe greener offices (less electricity used, less polluting materials...). I would like to work in a world where we can work in different ways, more respectful of nature.

world. We, humans, are social creatures, who are happier with strong social relationships. The lockdown showed us that the relationships are important for human mental health. It is necessary to create memories with our family and friends and to have people next to us. This situation made us think about how important being friendly with your neighbors, your teacher or your baker is. In the future we should enjoy talking and having fun with our loved ones.

I don't think we should work from home in the future because there is no longer any visibility with the outside world, if we work from home we don't go out and see anyone. It's good to work from home, but people need to stay in touch with each other, that's what unites them and makes them happy every day. 

To conclude, I think we can say that it was quite interesting to work from home because we discovered other ways of working, but the aim is still to stay in touch with our loved ones because if people stay at home, they don't go out anymore, only to do basic shopping. They see fewer people. But the good thing about teleworking is that since we go out less, nature is much less polluted, and it is important to keep a beautiful natural environment. 

For people in teleworking, I think that those who want to stay at home should be able to do so, but those who don’t want to stay at home should be able to go to work.

Lastly, I think it is important for people to do whatever they please but they have to say their reasons because the companies wouldn't want it otherwise and I think a lot of people would like to stay at home for a variety of reasons.  

 

At the arrival we must wear masks and the supervisors put us hydro-alkaline gel on our hands.

When the bell rings, we line up in single file, then we are given gel.

In class, we are all alone on our table and everyone is one meter away from each other.

All our chairs and tables are desinfected at the end of each day.

During recess, we keep the mask with the safety distances.

In the canteen it is not us who touch the deserts and the entrances, the staff does it for us, and we eat in staggered rows.

These rules were issued by the government, we did our best to comply with them.

Animals have taken over the territory. It’s positive because nature is in danger. Despite the reopenings we must continue to preserve nature. She regained her rights during the quarantine when humans were absent. It proves that we are the cause of all pollution. We destroy nature step by step, often without realising it. We should sometimes opt for a more ecological way of life. About travelling, for example, it’s not always necessary to use cars or motorized vehicules. It’s thanks to simple little actions like these that we protect and preserve our Earth longer. 

During lockdown I saw that humans helped each other. It’s good because when it’s difficult, humans forget differences. 
Usually, my dad works, so I don’t see him during the day, and my sister who studies in Grenoble came back to Clermont-Ferrand, so I spent more time with them. I think families created closer links during lockdown. 

At school, there are fewer students (15 by classroom). The schedules are 8:30 AM and 16:00 PM.  Some subjects are useless like music or technology at school. It can be studied later in high school if the student wants to study them. And there may be new subjects like graphics. 

Then, on May 25, an event occurred, an act of pure cruelty. In the U.S., four white police officers killed a black man by tackling him to the ground with one knee on his neck. This act outraged the whole world. Such an act of racism happens a lot in America. This cruelty created the movement of "BLACK LIVES MATTER".

As a consequence, I would like to learn at school : 

1- What racism is like in this world. Because on 25^th May 2020, a Black man died. And now, the name of the Black man is a sign against racism and his last sentences resonate in Minnesota, and in Los Angeles, Washington, Paris, London. His name was Georges Floyd and he couldn’t breathe. 

Georges Floyd wasn’t the first Black man who died in America following police violence. It’s a long list.  In this list, we have : Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Breonna Taylor and so many more. 

Language teachers need to educate us with books that speak about racism and police violence like : - The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. 

-          To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. 

-          The Devil Finds Work by James Baldwin.
  We need to educate ourselves.

2- I would like to learn political things because we are the future of the world and I think we need to know how the political world works. If we don’t know how it’s works who is gonna teach us this? They are a lot of movies or series who talk about political things like: 

-          Malcolm X 

-          V for Vendetta 

-          Salvador

What I would like to experience at school : 

1- I would like to experience the prom. The prom is a ball where all students wear dresses for girls and suits for boys. All students dance on music, eat and drink. Boys or girls invite the person they like. The prom is a very traditional event in the U.S.A and I think we need to have this in France. The prom is the most liked event among teenagers. They come with luxury cars with the boy or the girl they invite. They come together for the party. Before the party begins, students need to vote for the prom queen and the prom king. After the prom, some students organize a second party at home.
2-  I would like to experience the graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony is an important event in the U.S.A. All students are gathered on the football pitch. This event is very important for them because it’s the consecration of years and years of hard work. Teachers and the headmaster are on a stage and call students one by one and give them their degrees. The graduation brands the end of high school and the beginning of university. At the end of the graduation, students take their hats off and throw them in the air.

All of these things come from the U.S.A and I think France needs this because it is so funny and cool. It’s a really cool time for the students, just to give them some moments with no stress, when they can have some fun moments with their friends and their families.

Imagine yourself in a beautiful country such as Australia and sleep in an ecological lodge, visit animal reserves protected in voices of disappearance (Australian Zoo). Ecology is now part of our daily life, when we sort waste, with solar panels, use rainwater. So why not when we go on vacation?

But there are things that can change: 

A school with no marks but competences

A school with less homework because we work every day and all day long. In the morning, we start at 8pm until 4am, we are so tired in the evening when we go back at home.

A school where we can dress as we want but correctly.

A school with a game room where we can rest and play 

A school where we can choose the sport that we want to practice (basketball, rugby, tennis…)

A school where we can organize a party at end of the school year.

A school where there are lockers to put our belongings because our bags are heavy.

A school where we can choose our main subjects.

A school with more break times.

To conclude, each one of us has their own opinion of the ideal school. I think that I am lucky because I am a student. In other countries children are often forced to work instead of going to school. So personally, my school is very well suited.

Personally, I prefer work at school than at home. I am rapidly distracted whereas at school I am always focused. 

I found it difficult to stay at home for a long time and not to go out because I usually often got out.

I learned how to manage my time with my schoolwork and I learned how to cook many courses too.

I didn’t like to stay with the same people all days because we often quarrelled.

What I missed the most during the lockdown was people in general, especially my family and my friends.

What frightens me today it is to catch the virus but I think that if we respect the safety gesturethere is no risk.

Now what makes me happy is to be able to go out, see people, see my family, my friends.

Have new schedules to lessen tiredness at the end of the week. Have school rules  that would be based on mutual respect and trust between teachers and students, which could become stricter with much more disciplinary rules for people who would break it. 
I would also like to learn a lot more about our future professional life to be ready to face it when we are older. 
And finally, I would like a cosmopolitan school where we would all study together without any difference, and we would all be united.

I would like to work in the field of aeronautics as an airline pilot because I have been passionate about airplanes for a long time and I love travelling all over the world to discover new cultures. Or I would like to work as an engineer in aerospatial because space makes me feel good and everything is so insignificant compared to its immensity. I would also like to work in the scientific field as an engineer, in the police forensic department .

And finally, I would also like to work in the domain of languages, as a teacher specialized in a language (in English) because for me language learning is not accessible to everyone and by teaching it I would like to allow those who cannot learn it easily to understand it.

We think that it’s could be really fun and interesting to do some classes out of school. For example, go and see some historical places related to our history program,  and do the same for “SVT” or our French class. We think it can capture the attention, raise the curiosity and trigger the desire to learn from students. And learning ecology and ecosystems is very important because of the earth’s situation right now, so why not do some projects related to that? 

Working from home was quite hard to follow, but with some help, I personally managed to stay focused on my work and to stay with my family at the same time. However I think going to school is better because staying home all the time is tiring and hard to manage sometimes. Emotion can interfere more than usual and we can feel tired, sad and depressed more easily and more frequently than usual. 

But also, we can focus on what we like doing most. Personally, via videos, I learn how to mix paint to do skin colors and I also create some projects about my room, which has been my safe place for years. It took me some time to carry out one of them during the lockdown: painting on both side of my doors.

I can also say that being on lockdown brings some conflicts back at home and you can’t really escape them, being all the time at home. 

What I missed the most during the lockdown? My friends. I realized how all my friends were so important for me and how it is important to keep contact with them no matter what. 

What frightens me today? It is that my family catches the virus. This is why everyone should respect safety gestures to keep everyone safe. 

What makes me happy? It is my friends, the fact that I can go out and buy things for my projects and the fact that I can plan things for me and my friends!

A little later it was a little better, I could get out of my house to enjoy walking outside and visiting my grandparents. Then I made a nice drawing for my grandmother and she loved it! ha if only I could have, I would have liked to see her! 
I would like to see my best friend Simon again, with him we made good summaries and presented them well. 
Later, it was better than before, I could go to the CHU to do a slam so we could sing it.

Conclusion: All in all, I wanted to make efforts and participate, just in case, if I wished.
 For me, my job that I will do, it will be too good! Since I love basketball, I can become a basketball coach. And also, I would love doing computer science to create software or invent video games.

I had a lot of trouble organizing myself and having a school ritual since we worked at home. Everything was different, we had to follow every class every day otherwise we were going to be completely lost.

Little by little, I got used to it and I managed to find the rhythm that suited me. Now, at the end of this very bizarre end of the year which is approaching, I feel much less motivated than at the beginning, I tend to let myself go and forget that it is not yet finished.

I will speak about the beginning of lockdown, where people panicked and created crowds who were afraid of this virus. I find it really selfish and awkward to want to buy everything in sight to be able to stock up. It was not the end of the world but just a serious epidemic. To be able to solve this epidemic or reduce it, we had to be understanding and attentive. It was certainly not easy for everyone, but today we are free to go, thanks to our efforts and our attention!

Later, when my children don't want to go to school, I will tell them what we went through, and I think they will prefer going to school.

I think I said everything I wanted to say, thank you for reading me.

However, as time went by, it became more and more difficult because I wanted to go out and see my family, my friends ... but unfortunately it was not possible so I respected the rules. I stayed home and I called my family from time to time to get fresh news. Luckily for me, my family was fine. I also called friends every night, we made video calls together. It was pretty cool because suddenly it kept me busy. Then, to go back to the subject of the lessons, with time, I lost the motivation I had, I couldn't organize myself anymore, I was completely lost and I had a lot of trouble getting back on the right track. But I ended up more or less getting there.   

To conclude, I respected the lockdown rules as it was necessary despite certain difficulties.
