I wander, lost in powerless plight

Sirens wail under the city tower

Concrete crowds - nowhere to cower

Off in the scour of movement, I see

Nowhere am I meant to be

Nature loses briars under stifling tires

Extinguishing dreams through constant fires

Cutting the link between Earth and humankind

Tries to leave me ill-defined

Man seeks to change the scenery 

Planting saplings in tarnished wood

Renovating nature because he could

Injecting additives and pesticides

Neglecting landscapes, repeating matricides

Trampling limbs as she grew

Settling to forget all she knew

Nurture the sensations or numb the pains?

Slipping sunlight into topaz tendrils

Only I cannot trust the chills

Must not rest emerald eyes

not when the twilight lies

I am greeted by crystals' haze

Alas, I must not succumb to the fading gaze

endless possibility, I

still feel

agony

inevitable knowing life

really,

is

not

grand.

Each color shines light once gone

Absorbing moments for sight and scent

Unleashing chrysalis cascades to cement

Tilling change in the ground

You never know where beauty may be found
