Liberal feminist's view is ethnocentric and only reflects the experiences of white, middle class women.

1. What are the causes of gender inequality based on each feminist perspective.
(1) Liberal Feminists believe that the main causes of gender inequality are ignorance and socialisation.
(2) Marxist Feminists argue the main cause of women’s oppression is capitalism.
(3) Radical Feminists believes gender inequalities are the result of the oppression of women by men, and it is primarily men who have benefited from the subordination of women. Women are ‘an oppressed group.

2.How gender inequality could be resolved based on each perspective? Provide examples.
(1) As evidence, liberal feminists want to make some structural changes, and especially point to various legal reforms which promote sexual equality such as the sex discrimination act (1970), and Equal Pay Act .
(2) For Marxist Feminists, economics can be the solution to gender inequality. Examples are paying women for childcare and housework. Also, one criticism of Marxist feminism is that women’s oppression within the family existed before capitalism and in communist societies.
(3)Radical Feminists: Nuclear family as particularly patriarchal, and advocate its abolition and the establishment of alternative family structures and sexual relations. The solutions suggested by Radical Feminists include separatism – women only communes, and matrifocal (female centred) households.

3.What are the critiques of each feminist view? Explain.
(1) Liberal Feminist: One criticism of the liberal feminist view is that it is ethnocentric – it only really reflects the
experiences of white, middle class women.
Explain: The Liberal Feminist didn't include women from other different races.
(2)Marxist Feminist: One criticism of Marxist feminism is that women’s oppression within the family existed before capitalism and in communist societies.
Explain: Capitalism and Communism aren't the causes of inequality of gender.
(3)Radical Feminist: Criticisms of Radical feminist: • Ignores the progress that women have made in many areas e.g. work, controlling fertility, divorce • Too unrealistic – due to heterosexual attraction separatism is unlikely.
Explain: Their views are too unrealistic and excessive.

4. Which feminist perspective would you support? Why?
We may support Marxist Feminist's theory, because capitalism will gather men and women work together, ignoring the gender difference. And this strategy of cooperation will maximise the efficiency.

1.
The causes for gender inequality based on the study of:
- Liberal Feminism is; ignorance and socialization
- Marxist feminism is; the oppression in capitalism.
- Radical feminism is; the patriarchal structure of society, where men are regarded a superior class to women ultimately causing the oppression of women's rights

2. Gender inequality could be resolved in the perspective of :
Liberal Feminism; through creating equal opportunities for men and women. They believe society is already progressing towards this course due to the sex discrimination act (1970) and the equal pay act.

Marxist feminism; in two ways, the first being providing a payment to the jobs carried out by women such as housework and childcare. The second solution being the abolishment of capitalism.

Radical feminism; through eradicating the 'traditional nuclear family' as they believe it to be particularly patriarchal. Instead they opt for the establishment of alternative family structures and sexual relations.

3. Liberal feminists have a very ethnocentric view, only indicating the perspective of white, middle class women who are more privileged.
Marxist feminists believe that the women's oppression within the family existed before capitalism.
Radical feminists ignore the progress that women have made through history and hold very a negative perspective of men in general

4. We support the Liberal feminists perspective as their solution is the only feasible one. That may create a positive and progressive environment for both genders. As feminism does not only fight for women'
s equality but equality of both genders.
