         <description><![CDATA[<div>Take Away's:<br>1) With a good curriculum a “less than average” teacher will outperform teachers who are seemingly more seasoned or skilled. <br> 2) Despite all of the research that has been done and everything we know about engaging learners, student still spend up to 6 years of their school careers doing worksheets and teachers are still only teaching to the top learners of the course through the way students are engaged (i.e. only calling on students who “volunteer”).<br>3) Content plays a critical role in the development of reading skills. After decoding processes are developed, students can only improve by learning about the world around them.<br>4) "Checking for Understanding" remains one of the quickest and most effective ways to develop ELA skills. <br><br></div>]]></description>
