During my research and the presentation from my peers about sea stars, I learned that star fish are amazing creatures that are so more complex then a fish that looks like a star. What I found that was really interesting to me was the way sea stars reproduce. There are two ways to reproduce, spawning and asexual reproduction.  I still can't believe that in asexual production the one parent starfish loses an arm and that forms another starfish! Another thing that amazes me is that sea stars gather in groups to reproduce, so that the sex cells can find each other easily and more star fish can be formed. Thanks to this research project, I have learned so much more about this amazing creature and I have so much more respect for this animal.

It is very unlikely for the limb to regenerate without part of the central disc. Additionally, I learned about a starfish called Crinoid. This type of starfish has a mouth on the top surface that is surrounded by feeding arms. Crinoids eat by filtering small particles of food from the sea water from their feathered like arms. Their tube feet are covered with a sticky mucus that traps the food floating by. Once the tube feet has caught the food, it starts propelling it towards its mouth.. Finally, I learned about a starfish called, Choriaster Granulatus. This starfish is the largest starfish and it eats algae and dead animals. The Choriaster Granulatus lives in many tropical waters around the world.
