explain the reason why medication has a generic and a brand name: .
Generic medication is all about the science in how the drug is made and what is active in the drug and how it makes you better. Branded medication is the exact same drug just with a different name and brand. the only difference between the two is the name and you pay a more expensive price for the Generic drug, such as Aspirin is for a headache, where as Anadin and Anadin Extra is the dane thing such different packaging. 'Generic medications are just as safe and effective as their brand-name counterparts, and often cost less.' (FDA 2018)

Explain the classifications of medication:
'The legal classification of a pack of medicine determines the level of control over its supply. In part, classification rests on how much health professional input is needed to diagnose and treat the conditions for which the medicine might be used' (Gov.uk 2014) The classification of medicine is where you can get it from whether that be prescription only, from the pharmacy or over the counter, different medication can be from different places, such as Tramadol can only be prescription only, certain nasal sprays and throat sprays can be over the counter and paracetamol and be bought from a pharmacy.
