Although the whole book made me feel lucky, certain parts of this chapter put me in a sad mood. On page 117 it says, "'One of my sisters could not run fast enough to disappear into the midden's sanctuary. They sent her with my mother, right through the door into Lilith's Cave. I can still hear her calling to me to save her, to hide her...'". I think Rivka most reminds me of Gitl because Gitl also wanted to make Chaya follow 'rules' so Hannah could have some self hope in a place where there is little. I think Rivka has a very good sense at what is happening in these camps when most don't understand the big picture , because they are trying to make sense of something that doesn't. Even though she lives in the terrible concentration camps, she remains strong, helpful, and to some point happy. Nearly all of her family members were murdered, and she may be sad inside, but she stands out from the other depressed young residents because she helps her friends and tries her best to save her newfound friends, such as Hannah/Chaya.
