Dr. Keith D'Souza through his well planned session helped us realise that anyone can be a leader. He shared wonderful examples to help us devise the various types of leadership . Now I know as a teacher leader where to step in and when to take a step back and let the learners decide the course of learning. All the activities, tasks, videos and anecdotes inspired me to be more involved in the school activities and create positive changes. By the end of the session I was in a state of introspection and reflections about my way of dealing with my learners and the style of teaching. I guess this workshop was just that initial step for me which has led to a lot of self questioning and analysis. I have jotted down a lot of things that I need to work on as a facilitator and as a teacher leader. I hope to implement some of these effectively during this session.

I was hesitant to write my own name because when I thought of Mahatma Gandhi, my name was nothing compared to the work he has done for the society. My take away from the session was identifying my leadership style which is a mixture of both Supportive as well Directive. We as teachers need to decide according to the situation which style to follow. 
Leadership can't be taught, we can give exposure to children through various activities and let them frame their definition of 'Leadership'. It can be as great as being a leader like APJ Abdul Kalam or planting a tree and making our family also do the same. For students to be leaders we as teachers need to have child autonomy, empathy, a sense of belonging and trust.
