Code-switching is a form to communicate in various ways using formal and informal greetings or phrases using and mixing different languages.

A example of code-switching is when I arrive to the class and the way I greet to the teacher is different to the way I greet to my classmates.

To me, code-switching means changing between languages or ways of speaking depending on who I am talking to or the situation. It helps me communicate better and connect with different people.

For example, when I’m with my friends, I usually mix English and Spanish while chatting. I might say something like: “That exam estuvo super difícil, bro.” Switching between the two languages feels natural because we all understand both.
