"Fashion" is styling clothes in your own way how you like and want. Everyone has different fashion/style. you can mix and match everything and anything to make it to your style. Fashion started in the middle of the 14th century with long colorful dresses that have turtle necks and colorful hats with feathers. The most popular period for fashion was in the 1950s with dresses with the length up to your knees they usually have polka dots or floral patterns and light colors like blue, green, pink and yellow. Now everyone has their own style and wears whatever they want however they want. Between the 1950s and now I think fashion is better now because you can wear whatever you want. Though, the 1950s style is cute. I prefer today's fashion. Though there can be problems with now and before fashion like there could be outfits that don't come in certain sizes but there are plus size stores and websites now.

Fashion back then and now have some similarities and differences. For example in the 2000s people would wear crop tops, denim, belts, belly chains, mini and denim skirts, cargo pants, jeans and tracksuits and now in 2024 people also wear those same things. Now, even tho there's a lot of similarities there are also a lot of differences. For example people in the 2000s used to wear mesh tops, rectangular sunglasses with metal frames, boxy skirts, leather skirts, rhinestones or halter necklines and now in 2024 people don't wear these things anymore.

Though there can be problems with now and before fashion like there could be outfits that don't come in certain sizes. But there are plus size stores and websites now. Like years ago there were no websites or even stores with plus size sizing. People years ago would have to buy their outfits and get it tailored. It would cost a lot more money but now you can get any size for the same price!

Fashion has a big effect on people. Usually when new fashion trends come out people go crazy and start to buy this item. This causes everyone the item to not be original because everyone would have the item. For example lets say a new pair of sneakers came out, and everyone started to see them. This would cause everyone to start buying the shoe. Later on the shoe would be out of style and everyone would have a shoe that is not in style which means they wasted their money. In conclusion this is why fashion has a big effect on people.
