The theory of trait approach in leadership suggests that a successful leader was born to be a good leader. The qualities of being a successful leader in the trait theory are known to be inherited from previous family. The skills of a learner can not be learned over time. An example of the trait theory in action would be that Kasper Schmeichel a goalkeeper in football has inherited leadership skills from his successful dad Peter Schmeichel who was also a goalkeeper.

Behaviorism relates to a psychological approach in which encourages scientific and objective methods of investigation. The approach is only worried with observable stimulus-response behaviors, and says all behaviors are learned through interaction with the environment.

A leader who adapts an interactional approach would focus almost mainly on building a relationship of some form between members of the group. This way of being a leader would keep a rather high team spirit if the leader is successful in building the relationships because the team will want to work for each other and understand the goals each person wants to achieve.
