1.I think the view of this story is told from a narrator .I think that because in the text it says that,''Stanley Yelnats was given a choice between going to prison or going to Camp Green Lake'',instead of the main character saying I,me,or we you here the narrator telling the story. One more example is that,''His backpack lay on the seat next to him''.Also this is why I think the view of this story is told from a narrator.I think that this changes the way the story is being told because,a narrator really does't capture the emotions of the main character. 2.I think Sachar should have had the main character tell the story rather than a narrator which I kind of think was a bad decision. The reason I think that is because it would be more descriptive and make it more effective.

Interpretive Question:
In my opinion I think that Sachar made a bad choice by telling the story in 2nd and 3rd person point of views because I like books that are more of a 1st and 2nd person. I don't really like 3rd person books. I just want read all the action from 1st and 2nd person point of view because its makes the story more interesting to me. This is why I think Sachar made a bad choice by telling the story from 2nd and 3rd person point of views.

1. The story is written in third and second person. This is because in chapter 1, the title alone can show that the author is trying t talk to you. Otherwise, in chapter three, the author is talking about Stanley without being in the story. I know this statement is true because in chapter 1 the title is, " You are Entering Camp Green Lake". This title is talking directly to you, making you feel as if you are a part of the story. However, this book is also written in third person. I know that is true because in chapter 3 it says, " He looked out the window, although there wasn't much to see." This shows how Holes is written in third and second person.

2. I think that by choosing two different point of view methods, it makes the book more interesting and intriguing. By choosing third person, I can see that it is easy for me to understand, because it is happening from a third person point of view. However, having second person as a choice for point of view was very interesting as well. This is because in second person the reader is brought into the story. This is extremely effective when trying to grab a reader's attention.

For example in the book it says, "The campers are forbidden in the hammock." Secondly, in specifically in chapter three it talks just about Stanley. Stanley isn't talking but the narrator is telling the story of how Stanley got to Camp Green Lake and how his "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-grandfather" gave his family bad luck for eternity.

2. I think that by choosing two different types of point of view was a great method and idea to kind spice up the book and make it more interesting and intriguing.

1) I think that the point of view of holes is 3rd person. The narrator can hear everything the characters say and do. Everyone is saying or doing something the narrator knows. For example, The narrator knows Stanley didn't take the shoes because he saw everything. 2) I think the Point Of View of Holes is a good choice because if it was written in something like 1st person, It would only really tell you what Stanley was thinking. If it wasn't told in 3rd person, It would be a whole new way to get used to the story.

I know that 3rd person is when the narrator is not a character in the story and also they tend to focus on one character. In the story Holes, the narrator focuses on Stanley and what is happening to him. In chapter 3 it talks about how Stanley use to play camp with his toys. This is an example of when the narrator focused on Stanley. I think this influence how the story is told by telling the readers more about Stanley, so the reader can get an idea of who he is.

The book holes by Louis Sachar is written in third person point of view .I know this because the author tends to use he alot , and the narrator is not a character in the story ,but it tends to focus on one character .Some sentences that include the word he are He had never been to camp before ,and He was on a long bus ride to nowhere .
This novel is written in 3rd because of the amount of "He's" being used.
Louis has made this book alot more interesting and different by making it a different point of view. When i read the title I thought it would be 1st person but i had a nice experience because it was third. So i think sachar made a great decision to write his book in 3rd.Maybe the book would be different if it was written in first. It would show Stanley's thoughts ,feelings, and show why Stanley was arrested .

I said that because 2nd person use [you] and 3rd person use [he or his]. So in chapter 1-3 it use the key words [you, he, or his.]
2. If the story holes was told in 1st it would have more actions, feelings, and details in the story. Because 1st person tells the felling of the characters in the story. I know this because third person is when the narrator is not in the story and focuses on one character in the book only. That is what is being shown. The narrator is not in the story but only explains things that are happening in the story. Also the narrator only focuses on Stanley in the story. When we read the book we only know what is happening on Stanley's side of things.that is why it is in third person.
2. This influences how the story would be told by having the narrator only focus on Stanley. I f the narrator focused on everyone it would be different.

The story about Stanley is told in the third person, as the author is talking about the lives of people other than himself. An example of this is when it says:

Chapter 3: "Stanley travels to Camp Green Lake in a bus with the bus driver and a guard with a gun"

QUESTION 2:

When the story is told in the third person, the risk of ignoring the feelings of the protagonist runs. Plus, the author uses dialog from Stanley himself and other characters.
