- Yes, I have participated in recycling activities before. In my primary school, I was involved in a level-wide recycling competition. Every Wednesday, I would gather all the recyclables in my house such as the unused scrap paper, washed cans and plastic bottles to school. I do remember how every class was filled with enthusiasm and were all driven to be the champions. More recently, my family also went to the nearby community centre to redeem our own Bloobox, which is an initiative by the government to encourage citizens to recycle in the comfort of our own homes. 1) firstly, performing arts can inculcate vital values in a child, which bear great relevance in our society today. for example, resilience, patience and discipline. These values are essential in helping young children to overcome challenges and get through life smoothly. the participation in performing arts promotes the developments of such skills through its trials and tribulations. 
2) secondly, participating in performing arts also enhance one's skillsets from a young age. it is undeniable that youths innate curiosity which enables faster learning as compared to normal adults. for example, certain performing arts, like music, require an extensive knowledge in musical theory which one has to dedicate long periods of time to perfect their skills. 
3) on the other hand, performing arts take up too much time to hone one's skills. Since these children are so young, they often have not thought about what are their passions in life and yet their parents have already pushed them to pursue these skills. Hence, when these children have decided what they want to do, they will not have enough time to pursue other interests especially since they have to balance their studies and other curricular activities.

That is to say, schools can organise activities that involve one's culture to give them a better appreciation for it. An example of this would be Mother Tongue Fortnite. This 2-week long activity immerses students in their Mother Tongue culture through captivating activities such as musical performances, art exhibitions and learning journeys. This is a stark contrast to the dull nature of Mother Tongue lessons and exams, which most students, myself includes, generally dread and underperform in as a result. Mother Tongue Fortnight and other similar activities provide students with a fun and interesting way to better understand and appreciate their respective culture. This leads to Singaporean children embracing their culture from a young age, and ideally, bringing this understanding of their culture into their adulthood. How can we encourage SGeans to better embrace their culture?
- Firstly, we can ask our teachers to provide more programmes and activities such as Mother Tongue Fortnight. The fortnight has in the past included traditional Chinese drum performances, and Malay Dikir Barat performances. With these programmes, students will have raised awareness  of their own culture. The increased exposure to their culture can allow them to more easily accept their culture. 
- Secondly, Community Centres can provide activities that are centred around traditional culture for a small fee. These could include traditional musical instrument classes, where instructors would teach participants how to play traditional instruments, such as the er hu. Instructors could also elaborate on the history behind the instrument. With this knowledge, participants can understand more about the musical aspect of their culture, allowing them to embrace it more.
- Lastly, on a more personal level, we can ask our parents or grandparents about our family's culture. For example, the dialects that many of our grandparents speak can be taught to us by our parents. During family gatherings, we can interact with our older, dialect-speaking relatives, slowly learning the dialect. Even on a daily basis, we can ask our parents about their childhood, and the activities that they used to do, such as calligraphy or chapteh. This would impact one's perception of their culture, as it would become integrated into their daily life and family history. By being part of their daily personal lives, they are more likely to embrace their culture.

2. Do you think cultural music is still important in this day and age? W/WN?
- Yes, I think that cultural music is still important in this day and age as I believe it is important to preserve our culture. Music is reflective of it's era, and every generation has different music styles. For example, I'm sure that if you played older music to your grandparents, rather than the latest hits, they would get nostalgic and reminisce about their youth. This only further pushes me to believe that preserving cultural music is quite essential in fully understanding and appreciating the culture.
- I also believe that older, cultural music has had a huge impact on music today. Throughout the years, music has been a constant presence, and every era has slight nuances to it's music. These nuances have been reused over and over again by modern artists trying to find a "new" sound. Every generation of music borrow aspects from their predecessors. Some modern artists wouldn't be around without their first-generation source of inspiration. So cultural music really has impacted much of todays modern music, and is almost essential for it to exist.
