The breed and its milk has been also endorsed by Slow Food. In her cafeficio Rosella produces a variety of cheeses of excellent quality. Her goats go also on altering grazing routes. She is one out of only 4 female shepherds in Sicily, called pastoresse.

Geloi is situated in one of Sicily's most polluted areas and is a true sanctuary for migratory birds protecting their last place of rest before their long travel. The team from Geloi does not consider their work Rewilding itself, but might be the only reality which comes close to Rewilding in Sicily. Further, the relationship with the local shepherds can be conflictual from time to time.

Manna is gained from ash trees (IT: frassino) and is one of the oldest traditional products of Sicily. It has also been certified under the Slow Food label. Manna is also registered by UNESCO and Giulio Gelardi has been designated custodian of this heritage.

The farm covers the territory of Valledolmo and neighbouring areas (Polizzi Generosa, Sclafani Bagni and Vallelunga Pratameno), land suited to the cultivation of vegetables and the famous 'siccagno tomato', because it is rich in clays and particular sands that allow the soil to regulate water very well. 

It seems that they currently don't work with grazing animals though. However, Totò has reached out already and the farm has shown interest in collaboration.
