         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>A Canadian artist based in Ottawa.</li><li>She has dual heritage; she is nêhiyaw from Red Pheasant First Nation, a member of the Sikiska Nation, and has British, Dutch and Scottish ancestry on her mother’s side.</li><li>In her artwork, she incorporates props, constructed garments and performance.</li><li>She explores the construction of Indigenous identity and heritage, especially her own as a woman of Indigenous and European one.</li><li>She focuses on land, the natural environment and migration, enlarging the viewer's understanding of inherited historical narratives.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>It draws attention to the <strong>harmony</strong> present in nature.</li><li>It reminds the reader of the <strong>cycle of life</strong> and that man is not eternal, whereas nature is -&gt; <mark>"</mark><em><mark>The forest, a place of </mark></em><strong><em><mark>ancient </mark></em></strong><em><mark>stability."</mark></em></li><li>It is a warning of the consequences of our actions -&gt; <em><mark>"Their [water striders'] silence is </mark></em><strong><em><mark>a warning of our fall."</mark></em></strong></li><li>It shows the <strong>power of nature</strong>, through the <strong>respect</strong> with which it talks about it.</li><li><strong>Water </strong>is an essential element of the poem, the same way it is essential to humanity.</li></ul>]]></description>
