As you all know, I recently was assigned to teach ELA 5th grade, and I could not be more excited to be working with this fantastic group of students! My goal is to communicate with parents and guardians frequently, and I will always respond to any email promptly within 24 hours. Please feel free to reach out for any questions at all. I am here to work as a team to make sure that the student is successful! I love teaching, and part of that is working with families. 

With that being said, I hope you all had a restful three-day weekend! I am so excited for this week. I also wanted to provide a glimpse into my classroom.

Students will be introduced to a text every week, and we will work with it the entire week. Additionally, my classroom has a solid routine, and it is as follows:
  • Vocabulary on Monday
  • A reading workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday
  • A writer's workshop on Thursday
  • Test day every Friday. 

If a student missed a day at school, they should always look at Padlet to get a sense of what they might have missed and completed it.
