In Matthew 22:39, Jesus commands us to "love your neighbor as yourself." This includes those who struggle with addiction. Instead of judging or condemning them, we should show them love and support.



Additionally, in Galatians 5:22-23, Jesus teaches about the fruits of the Spirit which include self-control. Drug use often leads to a lack of self-control and can harm both the individual and those around them.



Finally, in Matthew 6:24 Jesus warns against serving two masters. Addiction can become a master that controls one's life and takes away from their relationship with God.



In conclusion, while Jesus did not specifically address drug use in his teachings, his message of love for others and self-control can be applied to this issue. We should approach those struggling with addiction with compassion and encourage them towards a path of recovery.
