For the first 5 years, the annual sales of imported cars rose steadily from 5,000 units in 2004 to 35,000 units in 2009. Sales then slumped to 25000 in 2010 before reaching a peak at 40,000 units in 2011.Thereafter, from 2011 to 2013, sales fell by a half to 20,000 units before closing at 25,000 units in 2014.

The sales of local cars jumped from 6,000 units in 2004 to 15,000 units in 2005. There was a slow increase of 1,000 units in 2006. Sales then nearly doubled to 30,000 units in 2007. Sales then stabilized in the following year before decreasing by 5,000 units in 2009. Sales then rose significantly to 37,000 units in 2010 and again dropped considerably to 28,000 units. By 2012, sales improved slowly to 30,000 units before reaching a peak at 45,000 units in 2013. Sales then ended at 42,000 units in 2014.

In conclusion, we can see that an increase in sales of foreign cars in a particular year would result in the reduction in sales of local cars for that same period.
