<sup>Procedures:
- Fill a bowl with enough water to cover an egg. Place the egg in the water. Does the egg float or sink? The egg sinks because it is denser than the water.
- Now add salt to the water, and stir gently, being careful not to break the egg.  Keep adding salt until the egg floats. You will need about 4 tablespoons of salt for every 1½ cups of water.
- Did the salt change the water's density? The liquids inside an egg are denser than water, so the egg usually sinks into water.
- Adding salt to water makes the water denser. When enough salt is added, the egg will be less dense than the water. The egg will rise. You have produced the levitation of an egg!
