Unfortunately, my family and I moved a lot when I was a kid, so I found it really hard to make friends.  I didn't really know what I wanted to be so I had defaulted to a doctor.  I did know that I liked to read, although suffered burnout in middle school from lack of engagement.  There was always one specific book in the library of one of my elementary schools that I would just continually check out.  It was a beautiful edition of different mythological goddesses.  My younger self adored the art in it.  The only difference is that now, I have my own personal copy that I keep on my bookshelf!  One of my goals when I become a teacher is to help students not get burned out.  I don't want them to come to hate books like my younger self did, so I aim to keep them engaged into reading at all times!]]> 2021-10-16 02:45:33 UTC https://padlet.com/lelouton/n5wxh7uun9c2ynbd/wish/1820668168 laurenlouton https://padlet.com/lelouton/n5wxh7uun9c2ynbd/wish/1820668690 This is what I hope to be!  I want to be a great teacher; someone who students will look back on with fondness. My hope is to provide a safe and creative learning environment for all of my students. When they come in my classroom, they will know that they can be anything they want. Back when I was in elementary school, I felt stupid for having to ask questions. In my classroom, no student will ever have to feel that way. I am committed to creating a shared space of understanding and learning. I'm a University of Arkansas Sophomore student who is on campus for the first time.  I spent my entire Freshman year online at home, so it is nice to finally be on campus.  My plan is to become an English Language Arts teacher to either high school or college students.  Although, I am slowly warming up to middle school from observations I have done.  It's really all so exciting!  I am also working towards a minor in Psychology as it is interesting and helps me read people.  Understanding the mind is a useful tool if I am going to be interacting with students everyday.  I want to be as prepared for them as I can be, and give them the best education they can get!   ]]> 2021-10-16 02:52:48 UTC https://padlet.com/lelouton/n5wxh7uun9c2ynbd/wish/1820674677
