- It showed us the accomplishments and the life of a famous Queer person

- It did not hide the discrimination that queer people received even when they were war heroes.

- Turning helped us win the war yet post-war society shunned him for being himself and were the cause of his death and the film was not afraid to show that. So although he helped crack the German code and helped us win the war, he was given the choices to either take medicine to “stop his homosexual tendencies” or to go to prison.
