- It can survive on surfaces eg. countertops and toys for a long time and can be picked up on peoples hands. 
- It also takes very few viruses to start an infection.

A proper hand wash requires warm running water, soap and rubbing hands together for about 20 seconds. 
- Avoid going out up to 48 hours after symptoms have stopped because the virus can remain in stool for a couple days after symptoms stop.
- Clean the whole environment once with soap and water and then sanitize infected surfaces with a dilute bleach solution. Make sure to wear disposable, waterproof gloves while cleaning.
