Trevor Noah explains the effects of being born a crime by telling his own personal stories, how his dad had to stay on the other side of the street and could only wave like a “creepy pedofile”. His mom, on the other hand, would stay with him, but as soon as the policemen arrived, Trevor Noah uses great author’s craft by saying that she’d “drop him like a bag of weed”, and automatically try to show that he didn’t belong to her.

How did his upbringing impact his idea of his own identity?
He also commented on how being born a crime led people to giving him disrespectful nicknames. All these experiences made him want to move to the U.S because he had once heard that once he moved there, he would be considered black. I believe this was really important for the building of his identity because even though the indigenous were a “lower class” and at the bottom of the ladder, he just wanted to feel like he belonged and that he wasn’t a product of something illegal.

How does he use humor to teach an important history lesson?
Trevor uses humor to explain his deep stories with a nice touch. The humor also emphasizes the irony, which was key to the connections he made during the show. Humor is a great element for making analogies, which is what he does when he says that his mom would drop him like a bag of weed if policemen saw them. This quote can makes us create a clear picture that it was illegal to have a “mixed son/daughter”, and how humor made a big impact in the telling of the story.

1.He talked about how he was mixed and his mom was black and dad was white. How hard to live that everytime he walked with his mom he let go his hands and pretended they were not a family. His mom or his dad didn't care whatsoever and his mom spent lots of time in prison.
2.He went to the U.S.A to be a BLACK man and didn't care and was proud of that. He started to learn german to get closer to his dad since when he was born a crime.
3.He makes lots of jokes about his life and makes people laugh.For me I woudnt laugh because for him it should be tough to live like that.
