Instead of color-coding within your compare and contrast blog post, insert this chart at the end of your essay where you will copy and paste your evidence next to each skill/strategy/technique. That means you will write a sentence with an example of each, then you will copy/paste your sentences into the list at the bottom of your document.

Example

Conjunctive adverb sentence: Therefore, vegetarians and vegans are quite different.
Complex sentence: Even though vegetarians don't eat meat, they do eat meat by-products.
Compound sentence: You can eat cheese if you are a vegetarian, but you cannot eat cheese if you are vegan.
Sentence beginning with a gerund: Being a vegetarian is a lifestyle change.
Sentence beginning with an infinitive: To be a vegan is also a lifestyle change.
Sentence with a simile (one or more): Being a vegan is like being a pro-athlete; it is not for beginners.
Sentence with an appositive: Vegans, people who don't eat meat or meat by-products, can do so for personal or religious reasons.
