Plant life of Oahu: Oahu is located in a subtropical area near the equator, resulting in its warm climate. Because of the warm climate along with the subtropical elements, Oahu has lush and diverse plant life.

Ocean currents in Oahu: There are north equatorial warm currents that happen in the south of Oahu and also north pacific warm currents north in Oahu.

Think:
The reason why Oahu in Hawaii has lush and diverse plant life is mostly because there is a warm climate that allows water vapor to turn to rain. And rain is essential for plant growth. Moreover, the north equatorial and north pacific currents can maybe decrease the temperature of the shores, but the inland of Oahu is not affected during the summer and the plants continue to grow. On the contrary, the ocean currents during the winter can also heat the plants on-shore which allows further growth of other plants during the cold winter. Furthermore, the altitude of Oahu is considered to be average compared to other high altitude locations, therefore the warm temperature can cause lush plant life. Lastly, the prevailing winds of Oahu can bring lots of water vapor for more rainfall that stimulate the diversity and lushness of plants.
