Of course, there are occupational reasons for me to write (lesson plans), but the majority is for communication. I write a little bit every day for this purpose. The benefit (imo) of writing as opposed to speaking is that writing is solidified: It will last for many years, if not forever; speaking is wind and is gone as soon as it is expelled.

I bought a journal that I use just for when I want to write to them and to feel closer to them. I also bought another journal and I use that to write my prayers down in. I also write notes to my friends and family.
