The reason I signed up for this course is I hope to get better analytical skills. My strengths as a student include if I put my all into my work, I am sure to make it great. My weaknesses include procrastination; I could have a full year, 365 days, to complete an assignment, and I would wait until day 363 to do it. With that I could accomplish low B quality work. That is also something I plan to get from this class; it will teach me that I need to do something when it needs to get down, instead of waiting until the last minute and half-tailing it. Something interesting about me that makes me unique is I am a brutally honest person and I not afraid to speak my opinion.

*Also I selected a John Hart book because he is my favorite author and every book I have read by choice has been a John Hart. But given that he only has 7 books, I am running low on things to read. So please feel free to suggest some author's or books - that would be greatly appreciated.

Hernandez states DACA gave him many of opportunities in US including going college, having a job, having auto insurance, owning a home, and etc. He does not want to see the removal of DACA because he believes that there is something congress can do to prevent people on DACA having to return to their home countries.

           Redemption Road:
By: John Hart
Page Count: 417

Gideon Strange's mother was murdered 13 years ago, and the man they believed murdered her just might be innocent. Adrian Wall, a former cop who was equally admired as he was hated, spent 13 years of his life in prison for the murder of Julia Strange but he is now released; however upon his release more dead women began to strangely appear on the alter of an abandon church. The church was previously owned by the parents Elizabeth Black, a cop who was once obsessed with Adrian Wall as a rookie; some may believe she still is. She is the only one who believes Walll to be innocent. On the other hand, she is not the only cop dealing with being on the wrong side of the law. Black is being investigated for the murder and torture of two black men who were holding a 17 year old girl hostage. Maybe it was a rescue gone wrong. Because of this resuce the girl grows an attachment to Black which eventually puts her in more trouble. The trouble leads Black in trouble herself, and while they are fighting to get out of it, they discover some life changing news.

Q. How do our values and beliefs shape who we are as individuals and influence our behavior?

A. Based on Redemption Road I would say the answer is our values and beliefs shape who we are because it influences our logic which then later influences who we are and what we do. In the novel, Adrian Wall met an old guy in prison named Eli Laurence who tells him a secret that Eli eventually got killed for. Adrian valued Eli and believed he owed him loyalty; this influenced his behavior significantly and caused him to do things that he would have done prior to meeting Eli Laurence.

There are certain pieces in the text that do not give direct answers, but as a reader one must know they will show up eventually.

"There is no sin in survival." This is said by Eli Laurence, an old men who was in prison with Adrian. He died prior to Adrian's release, but this phrase seemed to have lived on. This is the best quote due the fact that it helped Adrian overcome certain obstacles in the text; he understood it meant there is no nothing wrong with survival as long as you do what you need to do to survive. Although the quotes is only mentioned with Adrian, there is evidence of this same mindset on other characters. Everyone was trying to see their best way to survive with both positive and negative approaches. This could even be applied to real life; in life you face trials and tribulations, but you have to do what you have to do to make it through it.

Eyes: Every character in the novel had a secret or was dealing with something internally. Something I noticed John Hart does not describe a single character's eyes as bright or clear or sparkling or anything until after they were dead. The cliche quote "The eyes are the windows to the soul." takes a large role in this novel. When the women were killed the murderer was looking for purity in their eyes, but on his last victim he was unable to achieve that. This is what I assume her eyes looked.
