An integrative curriculum is a curriculum that “allows children to pursue learning in a holistic way, without the restrictions often imposed by subject boundaries.” (Integrated Curriculum, n.d.). It is the union of all subjects that serve the whole child by which the student can develop skills that are transferable to all content subjects. The integrative curriculum will consist of activities, themes, projects, and topics that will allow the use the students’ prior knowledge and experiences to drive instruction. The integrative curriculum will include all content areas such as ELA, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health, Physical Ed, and the Arts as well as Technology and the 21st Century Skills.
