This family budget project taught me that it is essential that you know exactly where your money is going at all times. In our family's situation, it is important that they made decisions on where it was best to put what money they had. Some funds were more important than others, and the father has to make cautious, intentional choices on where his money goes for the interest of his children.

The Family Budget project taught me how to manage and maintain a monthly budget using real life expenses. We were given a list of expenses and were required to fit them into our budget according to how much our salary is. This project is a reflection of what is to come in the later years of life when I am required to manage all of my own expenses based on my own pay.

I also need to set aside an emergency fund just incase something unexpected happens. Not having debt is very benificial when organizing your money. That is what this family budget project taught me

These expenses don't use much money but going over budget even $50 is not acceptable. Also, I need to make sure to give enough to God before accounting for other expenses. I had to subtract my money for giving at the end when I was $50 over.

The family budget project taught me that patience and experience are essential assets to being sucessful with your money. It became very frustrating having to add up the money mulitple times and not getting it correct. Having a plan before doing this would be quite helpful for any family. Our family also had a lot of debt and unnecessary payments like cars and vacations. While there is no denying all of these things are nice, they can create a endless amount of debt that can tear the family apart. The most important thing to rememeber from this experience is to always put the items you truly need first and then feel free to get the pleasures you enjoy.
