Gobeklitepe is a Neolithic archaeological site near the city of Şanlıurfa in Southeastern Anatolia, Turkey.
The history of Gobeklitepe dates back to 11.600 years ago. It was only used for worshipping.
Gobeklitepe was discovered in 1962, during surface research made by Istanbul and Chicago Universities.
No architecture structure that could be thought as a house has been found in Göbeklitepe. It was mostly memorial type cultic structures that have been found. The geophysics researches show that around 300 obelisks were used in the structures founded in Gobeklitepe. 
All this information and the digs that have been made around the region show that Göbeklitepe is so unique in the world. It was constructed by the governor of Ephesus, Celsius, in his son’s name in AD 106.
 The capacity of the library was more than 12,000 scrolls. It was the third richest library in ancient times after the Alexandra and Pergamum.
 The interior of the library and its contents were destroyed in a fire that resulted either from an earthquake or a Gothic invasion in 262 C.E. and the façade by an earthquake in the tenth or eleventh century.
