They didn't hate monsters, they hated humanity. (including themselves). Chara and Asriel loved each other like siblings. They slept in the same room, wore almost the same clothes, they did everything together. There was a sweater they knit that said "Mr. Dad Guy" if only Asriel had made it it would've just said: "Dad". Asriel and Chara also baked a cake. There was an ingredient mixed up. They thought "3 cups of butter" meant "3 Buttercups" keep in mind that they're like 9. The king became very sick. The buttercups poisoned him. Chara and Asriel were miserable, having known they poisined their own (adopted) father. Asriel weeped every night, whilst Chara took a different route. Laughing it off. A coping mechanism for a lot of people, including Chara. That doesn't mean she's happy, she's in despair. There are many instances of laughing it off in undertale, like for instance the snowy family: When in a fight with snowdrake, you can laugh. When you talk to his father he says "Im a terrible fathah, haha." then quickly following is "That's not funny." Gaster is known throughout the undertale community and is bound to strike up a few questions. Was he a father? Why does he talk in symbols? Is he alive or just a figment of our imagination? I can't answer all of these questions today, but maybe I will in a future time. Question One: No, he is not a father to anyone. In many AUs he is portrayed as Sans' and Papyrus' father, but that is just not true.
