Hi! I'm Nour, and I'll be one of your tutors this year. Before studying Neuroscience, I used to work as a psychologist/hypnotherapist. I came to Finland from Iran, and I know how overwhelming (and exciting!) starting university can be, especially in a new environment. That’s why I’m really happy to be here to support you. I'm Tazeen Murtaza from Pakistan, I have bachelor's in Applied Psychology and was working as Patient Engagement officer. I am basically from northern areas of Pakistan , it is know for it's beauty and mountains , I completed my higher studies in Lahore which is cultural hub of Pakistan , I'm really excited to start my studies in Turku as it is also known for its culture. I am Jonas from Germany. There, I currently study psychology in Lübeck, a nice city at the southern Baltic coast (so I guess you could say I'm simply moving across the Baltic sea by coming to Turku). Last year, I did an exchange semester in Joensuu, Finland, as part of my studies, which I really enjoyed and therefore extended by a second semester. Now, as I'm finishing up my Master's studies back home, I've decided to return to Finland for a full second Master's degree, this time in neuroscience.

During my previous studies, I've always been particularly interested in psychology's biological/neuroscientific side, and I have also developed a huge interest in research. In Turku, I especially hope to gain more knowledge about certain research methods, e.g. regarding brain imaging. Personal research passions include language processing in the brain and embodiment.

I'm really excited to meet you all!

I’m Aremu Suliyat, all the way from Nigeria. With a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology, I’m passionate about understanding the intricate connections between neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic disorders. I currently work as a teacher and research assistant, and I’m thrilled to begin my journey in Human Neuroscience at the University of Turku! I’m Reeta Rinta-Harri and I’m really looking forward to beginning the studies and meeting all of you! I’ve been working as a pediatric occupational therapist for years, so I view neuroscience through the lens of OT. I’m a Finn so Finnish culture is more than familiar, but my challenge will be combining the studies in Turku and the family life in Hämeenlinna (not so near Turku). I’m especially interested in developing brain and brain imaging methods.

My name is Ilinca, I'm currently finishing up my psychology Bachelor in the Netherlands and I'm looking forward to specialize in Neuroscience! I worked with functional brain imaging before and met some incredibly nice and patient researchers, so I want to follow in their footsteps. I'm originally from Romania and miss some of that Eastern european flair, so I'm also excited to be surrounded by concrete apartment buildings and experience rough winters again!
