The seniors will plan and facilitate our March Camp annually. This year, our seniors also created their own video to showcase Guides to the whole school for WTD, doing the story boarding and filming by themselves. In addition, we also have selected girls who taught their fellow guides crafts during our in-house workshops.

The P6 girls created the Kim’s Game booth, managed and ran it for WTD.

For the weekly meetings, each level was given a chance to conduct games and songs.

The Brownies girls actively participated in various programmes such as recycling initiatives and facilitating the Tide Turner booths, where they promoted environmental awareness among their peers. They also took the lead in setting up the Mobile Marketplace, a student-led initiative that encourages sustainability and responsible consumption. During recess, the Brownies confidently shared the objectives of the marketplace and guided their peers through the activities, demonstrating teamwork, communication skills, and leadership as they engaged others in meaningful environmental actions.

Opera Estate Primary School My school Brownies group leaders led their respective teams in decision making when they worked together to prepare themselves for the various competitions which they participated in during the East Division Day event.

In celebration of Racial Harmony Day, our school collaborated with APSN School on an Upcycling Project!

Through this meaningful partnership, students from both schools came together to promote sustainability and celebrate unity in diversity. By giving new life to pre-loved items, they learned the importance of caring for the environment while fostering friendships and mutual understanding across different communities.

We did a combined UG VIA- with our scouts & red cross.

1. Spread festive joy with the neighbourhood shops & kindergartens for CNY with oranges distribution.

We express service and care for the wider community by doing ViA outside of school, even better if it is a yearly partnership for sustainability. (e.g. KC with SOSG, helping out with event management in sports events with people with disabilities.)
Next year WTD got chance to collaborate at hosting the friendship booth.
Have events where the host unit can invite brownies and cub scouts to join in the collaboration, e.g. do outdoor cooking together, or go hiking and earn the hiker badge together.
Plan a service learning activity together with different units.

The guides together with the Malay Dance Group coordinated a VIA trip to Thy Hua Kwan Home @Sembwang. They planned variety of activities to suit the residents at the Home. Some did colouring with the residents. They played games and had a Karaoke session.

Earlier this yr, our girls served alongside Mountbatten CC for their International Women's Day celebrations (audience: mainly elderly women) - they were deployed to usher the elderlies and facilitate various art and crafts booths.

Is there a possibility to have a East Div x St John's home calendar to coordinate our efforts to serve at St John's Home? This could be for us to know when St John's can have us / for schools to sign up for service learning. If we can coordinate / realise that 2 schools want to serve on the same date, then we can collaborate I guess and ensure that there's a sustained effort as an East Division to engage the elderly.

Is it possible for a round of PLTC to be held in June holidays instead of March holidays? As we have our annual school camp during the short March holidays, our students usually cannot make it and during the year end PLTC, many students are involved in overseas school trips and also cannot make it. Thanks!
