One risk I want to take in my academic/ creative life this first semester at MSUM is not submitting a single assignment late. I want to get everything in on time because now the punishment for lateness is significant compared to highschool.

The risk I want to try to do is stay on task and finish assignments early or on time. Even if it means I have to stay up late and sacrifice other things like time with friends. Getting a late assignment in college is a much harsher punishment than in high school, and I don't want to have it happen to me.

One risk I want to take in my academic life is to take notes a certain way based on textbooks. This is risky because it takes lots of time and I don't know if I will retain the information better. I'm hoping it will benefit me in the long run and not be a waste of time.

An academic risk that I want to take this semester is to get involved in the student run organization for SLHS students. NSSHLA is a student run organization that does many service projects around the community. I am excited to start getting for involved with NSSHLA more in the next few weeks!

One risk I want to try this semester is taking more detailed notes than I have before. This includes thoroughly reading the textbooks and setting aside a couple of hours each night to focus on my classes. I also want to try loads of different studies methods, just because in High School I was able to not study and do fine.

One risk I want to take this semester is to make strong connections with my professors and ask for help before I need it. This means coming to the office hours, asking questions, and maybe even getting tutoring if I end up needing it. I also want to try out some academic clubs so I can meet people with some of the same classes or the same major as me so I can learn how to be a better student in my area of study and connect with people.

One of my major risks I had taken this year was attending this college. Originally, I am nine hours away from home and surrounded by other colleges. Instead of playing it safe and staying for a degree I didn't exactly want. So I decided to move and attend a college that had the resources and degree path I wanted.
